Hoy en #monomad les continuo mostrando mi ciudad. En especial, el parque central.
Cuba por siglos fue colonia de España. De su madre Patria heredó su estética constructiva. Aunque ya no podemos hablar de un movimiento arquitectónico específico en Ciego de Ávila entre tanto eclecticismo, sí que podemos ver que la ciudad como antiguamente, gravita alrededor de este parque de granito rodeado de árboles. Todas las construcciones importantes de la ciudad, están a su amparo: la iglesia católica, la tienda mas grande, los museos, el gobierno.
Today for #monomad I keep showing My hometown. In special, the Main park. Cuba was a colony of Spain for centuries. From mother country we inherited the constructive aesthetics. Although we can no longer speak of a specific architectural movement in Ciego de Avila among so much eclecticism, we can see that the city gravitates around a Main granite park surrounded by trees like old colonial times. All the important constructions of the city are under its protection: the Catholic church, the largest store, the museums, the government.
Hace unos 60 años, este parque era el corazón cultural de la ciudad. Las jovencitas venían en las tardes a caminar alrededor de la glorieta que existía en el centro. Los jóvenes rotaban caminando en el sentido contrario a las muchachas. Las miradas se encontraban, las sonrisas se enviaban, se entregaban a escondidas apasionados mensajes y surgían las pasiones. Luego se sustituyó la glorieta por el busto de mármol de este Martí impasible (héroe nacional de Cuba), como mismo se puede encontrar en los parques centrales de todas las ciudades de Cuba.
About 60 years ago, this park was the cultural heart of the city. Young girls would come in the afternoons to walk around a gazebo that existed in the center. The young men would rotate walking in the opposite direction to the girls. Glances met, smiles were sent, passionate messages were secretly delivered and new passions occur. Later the gazebo was replaced by the marble bust of this impassive Martí (Cuba's national hero), as can be found in the central parks of all the others Cuban cities.
Hoy el parque alberga a los niños que vienen en las noches a practicar deportes en sus suelos pulidos, los padres que cansados buscamos un poco de aire fresco bajo los fiscos, los visitantes de otras localidades que necesitan una referencia para llegar a cualquier rincón.
Today the park is home to children who come in the evenings to play sports on its polished floors, to tired parents looking for a fresh air under the fiscus, to visitors from other towns who need a reference to reach any corner of the city.

Hermosad imágenes, nunca he estado en Ciego más allá del tienpo que demora la guagua en pasar por la provincia. Algún día me gustaría visitarla.
Ciego de Ávila es una ciudad pequeña comparada con el resto de Cuba. Pero puede ser hermosa, hay que saber caminarla. Esperamos visita jjj
