Hip dysplasia screening

Hip dysplasia can cause serious problems and can lead to the paralysis of the rear legs in dogs. Even though it is more prevalent in larger breeds, I still took Nelson for a screening. He is only 8 kg, but we have an active life and we run a lot. Therefore, before any serious problem could develop, it is recommended to check for hip dysplasia in smaller breeds too if you are serious about any kind of dog sport. Fortunately, on the picture here you can se a healthy doggo, who can run and have fun as much as he likes.

Indeed healthy, but he’s still small…a German Shepherd type would be much worse

Yes indeed, larger breeds are more exposed to this. The GSD population here in Hungary is in really bad shape, I saw many bad examples.

Hm, szia! Én az emberek rontgenjehez érték igazából, így csak félig mérvadó az eszrevetelem. a jobb combcsont feje (a képen bal oldalon) nem teljesen van benne a vapaban. Ez pont a dysplasia jele. ezért is jó, ha jársz a kontrollra vele, hogy az artrozist időben eszrevegyetek.

Szia, köszi az észrevételt, biztos megyünk majd kontrollra is. Fiziora járunk, ott úgyis szólnak ha valami nem stimmel és megyünk a dokihoz azonnal.
