How much social battery do you have left?

I'm viewing stories on my Instagram and I see a particular story from my friend, Joy. She had just spent sometime at a cottage with her friends. She mentioned that she uploaded a travel vlog of the outing on her YouTube channel and I decided to check it out.

About five minutes into the video, I am really amazed at her editing and the way the whole video just syncs together. The background music, the honesty, the realism, the video itself. I was fascinated. It made me want to create or edit a video just like this😅.

These days I love to let my mind run wild with imaginations.....

Back to the story. So, I'm still watching and somewhere in the video, Joy uses the word "social battery." It's my first time hearing that word and from the word itself and the context she used it, I could guess the meaning.

For me, I believe she used this term to describe how much time and energy she has available to use or spend socialising with people(in this case, her friends).

She had mentioned that her friends had gone to see the waterfall and she really wanted to see but she had run out of social battery. So she was home alone and just studying and having her quiet time. How I love the sound of that! Quiet time.

The moment I heard this phrase, I paused the video and I knew I just had to write about it. And so here we are, sharing that moment with you.

Turning the spotlight on you.
Would you say you are the kind of person that never runs out of social battery? Like, you are the actual life of the party; like, you fuel other people's battery😂? Or the other extreme, barely having enough social battery for the day?
Or are you somewhere in between? There are times, it's all pumped full and you're all out talking, spending time with people. And after a while, you run out and you need some time alone till you can recharge again?

How often do you run out of social battery?

Would you say you're extrovert, introvert or ambivert?

Was this your first time hearing the word 'social battery'?
