As I was passing by one of the streets in Villahermosa Tabasco (Mexico) I was struck by a tree whose trunk looked very different from the others.

Al pasar por una de las calles en Villahermosa Tabasco (México) me llamo mucho la atención un árbol que se notaba muy diferente su tronco con respecto a los otros.
La verdad estaba algo relajada y decidí bajarme e ir a inspeccionar.
As I got closer I could notice that its trunk was mostly wrapped in this strange plant that gave the impression of being snakes.
En la medida que me acercaba podía notar que su tronco estaba en su mayoría envuelto en esta extraña planta que daba la impresión de ser unas culebras.
It extended all the way to the top of its trunk, it had very thin thorns and the shape of the leaf or trunk was 3-sided with thorn terminations on each side.
I imagine that this plant must be many years old to achieve this envelope on the surface to which it is attached.
Se extendía hasta lo mas alto de sus tronco, esta tenián espinas muy delgadas y la forma de las hoja o tronco era de 3 caras con terminaciones en espinas cada lado.
Me imagino que esta planta debe tener muchos años para lograr esta envoltura en la superficie a la cual esta adherida.

I had the intention of cutting a small ranito to see if I could plant it in a pot at home, but its thorns did not allow me to do so.
I was researching with the photos I took and apparently it is a type of avocado of the cactaceae family (selenicereus Hamatus).
Researching I found that there are 25 types of this strange variety.
Some give exuberant and beautiful flowers.
