Hoy es un día especial
y las verduras salen a pasear,
caminan sin afán,
dejando todo atrás.
Ahí va la lechuga,
con su melena verde oscura,
la sigue la freijoa,
con su piel rugosa.
Today is a special day
and the vegetables go for a walk,
they walk without eagerness,
leaving everything behind.
There goes the lettuce
with her dark green mane,
follows the freijoa,
with her rough skin.
Visitan el salón de belleza,
donde una banana las espera,
primera entra la lechuga fresca
y la peinan, bella la dejan.
Cuando llega la freijoa,
su cabellera le cortan,
ella se siente cómoda,
sin pelos que la hagan perded su forma.
They visit the beauty salon,
where a banana awaits them,
first enters the fresh lettuce
and they comb her hair, they leave her beautiful.
When the freijoa arrives
her hair is cut,
she feels comfortable,
no hairs to make her lose her shape.
Y así regresan a su hogar,
las verduras felices están,
la lechuga lleva un mechón de otra tonalidad
y la freijoa su corte a ras.
Hoy era un día especial,
porque las verduras saldrían a pasear,
un nuevo look querían encontrar
y regresan con su meta hecha realidad.
And so they come home,
the vegetables are happy,
the lettuce is sporting a tuft of a different hue
and the freijoa its razor cut.
Today was a special day,
because the vegetables were going for a walk,
a new look they wanted to find
and they return with their goal accomplished.
