I went back to the public school to complete the remaining cleaning activity today. There was still some waste at the back of the school building. There were different kinds of pollutants, some were hazardous while others were recyclable materials. I collected these wastes and packed them into the garbage bag.
Solid waste products must be properly managed to avoid water contamination, air pollution, increased prevalence of vector-borne diseases, infection spread, etc.
Improper waste management practices have contributed to a decrease in the quality of life of a population as a result of environmental health issues that have arisen as a result of these poor waste management practices. The dumping of solid waste indiscriminately can result in desert encroachment, erosion, depletion of the ozone layer, depletion of natural resources, and erosion of land, rivers, air, and the general environment.
To solve the problem, we need to have waste disposal points in the community, waste management companies should also establish more recycling stations. Through public enlightenment, it is also necessary to raise the public's awareness of the importance of disposed waste properly and effectively. This will foster a positive attitude towards solid waste management.
