A short detour by the Saint-Martin's gaze, which occupies the entire sidewalk, leads to Belleville Park. Inaugurated in 1988, this park replaced a set of unhealthy shacks perched on former gypsum quarries transformed into caves. The view is breathtaking over the capital, allowing even to distinguish in the distance the Montparnasse Tower and the Eiffel Tower.

Un petit détour par le regard Saint-Martin, qui occupe tout le trottoir, conduit au parc de Belleville. Inauguré en 1988, ce parc a remplacé un ensemble de bicoques insalubres juchées sur d'anciennes carrières de gypse transformées en grottes. La vue y est imprenable sur la capitale, permettant même de distinguer au loin la Tour Montparnasse et la Tour Eiffel.

Ménilmontant - The Saint-Martin's gaze on Cascades Street. If my information is correct, this Latin inscription engraved on the pediment specifies that the Saint-Martin's gaze was built by the priory of Saint-Martin-de-Champs and restored by the monks in the 17th and 18th centuries.

Si mes infos sont exactes cette inscription latine gravée sur le fronton précise que le regard Saint-Martin fut construit par le prieuré de Saint-Martin-de-Champs et restauré par les moines aux 17ème et 18ème siècles.
