Water is life; it is refreshing and revitalizing.

Hello, everyone.

Welcome to my blog and another wonderful edition of the Hive Learner's featured post. At some point in our lives, we must have experienced how refreshing water can be when we drink it, not to mention the way it revitalizes our energy. At least 60% of the human body contains water, and our earth is also made up of at least 70% water. This alone shows you how important water is to man and how its very existence contributes to making life a lot easier for us.

They say we are a product of what we eat and drink, which makes it very important that we are watchful and careful of what goes down our stomach. What we eat and drink contributes to our wellbeing; the importance of knowing the condition of what we eat and drink cannot be overemphasized. Some people are ignorant of what goes down their stomachs. I had a friend once who so much believed in the saying "disease no dey kill African man." After he says this, he goes ahead to eat whatever he wants.

I was careless about what I ate and drank; there were times I can go two days without drinking water, and I was really proud of myself, but when a few health challenges came knocking, it changed that aspect of me, and now I am extra careful about what goes down my stomach and consume enough water daily. Water is life, and for the human body to function properly, water is needed, as it plays a vital role in the human system. For blood to flow properly, water is needed; water aids digestion as well. Without water, the body system will definitely fail at some point. The importance of good water intake is another way to help maintain the body as well as a healthy habit everyone must adopt.

Getting access to clean, affordable water is one challenge many African communities face. For water to be clean or said to be pure, it must be colorless, odorless, and, most of all, tasteless. Due to the bad economy, not everyone can afford sachet water, not to mention bottle water, so we all ought to adopt other means and ways to get ourselves clean water in a way that we can afford. We have streams, taps, and boreholes around us; water from these sources is not as pure as it should be but is affordable and accessible by all. So all we need to do is get water from these sources and purify it to the best of our knowledge. In subsequent paragraphs, I will share with you how we can purify water from these sources and make it suitable for drinking.

Boiling.

Heating the water to 100 °C can help kill germs that are present in the water gotten from the sources listed above, so by heating the water, we make it suitable for drinking as those germs that would have caused harm to the body system will be no more. Boiling is believed to be the best way to get our water pure and suitable for drinking.

Filter.

Water gotten from the stream in most cases can contain leaves, tree roots, and sometimes even sand. The only way to do away with these dirts is by filtering them out, and that way we make our water clean and free from debris.

Indeed, water is revitalising but like you said we really have to take care of what you're taking.
It's a challenge we need to tackle in our country and continent at large
