Espero se encuentren muy bien el día de hoy, nuevamente les comparto el proceso de mi último dibujo el cual es bastante especial ya que en conjunto con muchos otros artistas excepcionales decidí hacer mi interpretación de el día 14 del reto de dibujo Mermay y el cual tenía de temática "Mitología" por lo cual decidí tomar como inspiración a la diosa Atenea, diosa de la sabiduría, la guerra y la justicia para representarla en forma de sirena y en este post les mostraré un poco sobre mi proceso creativo y el proceso de la ilustración. I hope you are doing well today, again I share with you the process of my last drawing which is quite special because together with many other exceptional artists I decided to make my interpretation of the 14th day of the Mermay drawing challenge and which was themed "Mythology" so I decided to take as inspiration the goddess Athena, goddess of wisdom, war and justice to represent her as a mermaid and in this post I will show you a little about my creative process and the process of illustration. - Lo que utilice para realizar el dibujo en tradicional en una hoja tipo cartulina tamaño 35 x 28 cm, un lápiz de grafito 2 HB y un borrador (corté mi borrador haciendo que las esquinas quedarán en punta así será más fácil borrar espacios pequeños), mis colores y un corrector líquido blanco.
- What I used to make the drawing in traditional on a cardboard type sheet size 35 x 28 cm, a graphite pencil 2 HB and an eraser (I cut my eraser making the corners to be pointed so it will be easier to erase small spaces), my colors and a liquid paper (correction pen).
Comencé realizando el boceto de la ilustración buscando muchas referencias de diferentes representaciones de Atenea hasta poder unir todos los elementos que más me gustaron y plasmarlos a lápiz en el papel, al terminar el boceto comencé a pintar el dibujo delineandolo con color azul, turquesa y naranja para ir delimitando las zonas de su rostro y cuerpo, comencé pintando la piel mezclando varios tonos turquesa y amarillos claros para darle un tono de piel un tanto amarillento y bronceado en algunas zonas como las mejillas y los hombros. Pinte sus ojos con azul claro y fui creando capas de color para el cabello, con amarillo y varios tonos de marrón fui haciendo algunas de las piezas de oro en su cabello, rostro y para el casco. Quise hacerla con varios elementos de oro para representar partes de la armadura con la que es representada al igual que la expresión de su rostro ésta la hice bastante decidida y profunda buscando que su mirada demostrará poder, fuerza y determinación.
I started making the sketch of the illustration looking for many references of different representations of Athena until I could unite all the elements that I liked and capture them in pencil on paper, when I finished the sketch I began to paint the drawing outlining it with blue, turquoise and orange to delimit the areas of her face and body, I started painting the skin mixing several shades of turquoise and light yellow to give a somewhat yellowish and tanned skin tone in some areas such as the cheeks and shoulders. I painted her eyes with light blue and created layers of color for the hair, with yellow and various shades of brown I made some of the gold pieces in her hair, face and for the helmet. I wanted to make her with several gold elements to represent parts of the armor with which she is represented as well as the expression of her face, I made it quite determined and deep, looking for her look to show power, strength and determination.
Continúe pintando parte de su piel usando la misma combinación de colores que use para el rostro, asimismo continúe ahora pintando parte de lo que es la armadura que cubre su pecho usando los mismos tonos que utilice para pintar su casco de oro, para las perlas en sus brazos mezcle varios tonos crema y un poco de plateado para crear ese efecto de las perlas. Continúe pintando la hoja de alga que pasa por el medio de su pecho mezclando varios colores verde, para las gotas de agua en sus brazos use azul claro y blanco, ya para terminar con todo el dibujo principal termine de pintar la lanza que tiene con los colores que use para que fuera de oro también.
Continue painting part of his skin using the same combination of colors that you used for the face, also continue painting part of the armor that covers his chest using the same tones that you used to paint his gold helmet, for the pearls on his arms mix several shades of cream and a little silver to create the effect of pearls. Continue painting the seaweed leaf that goes through the middle of his chest mixing several green colors, for the water drops on his arms use light blue and white, and to finish with all the main drawing finish painting the spear he has with the colors you used to make it gold as well.
Este es el resultado del dibujo, termine de pintar los detalles del fondo los cuales son su cola de sirena y las olas de agua a su alrededor, para la cola de sirena quise hacerla con la misma paleta de colores que tiene todo el dibujo central enfocándome en los colores naranja, turquesa y azul oscuro. Para pintar las olas comencé haciendo líneas onduladas de distintos tonos de azul, también le agregué colores amarillos, verdes y azules para que se viera como el reflejo de ella. Al terminar de colorear agregué otros detalles pequeños y con corrector líquido blanco hice los brillos en todo el dibujo desde sus ojos, las gotas de agua en su piel, los brillos en las partes de oro y en su cabello. Me encantó hacer este dibujo aunque fue complicado ya que en ese momento tenía la mano lastimada y me costaba pintar correctamente pero aún así di lo mejor de mi y lo terminé, este dibujo además participa en un concurso en Instagram en donde estoy participando para ganar una tableta gráfica, si desean votar por mi pueden comentar mi nombre de usuario de Instagram en los comentarios de este link este fue un dibujo un tanto complicado para realizar pero el resultado me encantó un montón y disfrute mucho el hacerlo y todo el proceso creativo que este requirió.
This is the result of the drawing, I finished painting the background details which are her mermaid tail and the water waves around her, for the mermaid tail I wanted to do it with the same color palette that has all the central drawing focusing on the colors orange, turquoise and dark blue. To paint the waves I started by making wavy lines of different shades of blue, I also added yellow, green and blue colors to make it look like her reflection. When I finished coloring I added other small details and with white liquid paper I made the glitters all over the drawing from her eyes, the water drops on her skin, the glitters on the gold parts and on her hair. I loved doing this drawing although it was complicated because at that time my hand was hurt and it was hard to paint correctly but I still did my best and I finished it, this drawing also participates in a contest on Instagram where I am participating to win a graphic tablet, if you want to vote for me you can comment my Instagram username in the comments of this link this was a somewhat complicated drawing to do but the result I loved a lot and I really enjoyed doing it and all the creative process that it required.
