Night Elf - Art Commission | Illustrative Process

Hello hivers!

These last two weeks I've been working on this commission, it's a Night Elf from World of Warcraft, an art that took me a long time to make it because of the amount of details in his armor and skin, I'm glad to have achieved a good finish in textures and artwork in general. I share with you the process below.

Estas ultimas dos semanas he estado trabajando en este encargo, se trata de un Elfo Nocturno de World of Warcraft, un arte que me tomo mucho tiempo realizarlo debido a la cantidad de detalles en su armadura y piel, estoy contenta de haber logrado un buen acabado en texturas y arte en general. Comparto con ustedes el proceso a continuación.

I started with the sketch and the base colors, the color palette in the character is very varied and something important in this was his muscles hehe, the 3d model of the program is usually very helpful, but you have to be careful at certain points so that the figure does not end up looking like a mannequin.

Comencé con el boceto y los colores base, la paleta de colores en el personaje es muy variada y algo importante en este eran sus músculos jeje, el modelo 3d del programa suele ser de mucha ayuda, pero hay que tener cuidado en ciertos puntos para que la figura no termine pareciendo un maniquí.

Following this I started to work the skin, although shortly after I preferred to continue with his clothing, as he has a fairly detailed armor and metals take time and dedication, apart from this his skin had a scaly texture or I would say that more like a structure of a tree trunk, so I continued a little later. In the metals I tried to give textures of old and worn armor, some textures were made with a brush with dry texture and others were made little by little by me, they are tiny details that give a very nice touch.

Tras esto empecé a trabajar la piel, aunque poco después preferí seguir con su vestimenta, ya que tiene una armadura bastante detallada y los metales llevan su tiempo y dedicación, aparte de esto su piel tenía una textura escamosa o yo diría que más parecida a una estructura de tronco de árbol, así que continué un poco más tarde. En los metales intente dar texturas de armadura vieja y desgastada, algunas texturas fueron hechas con un pincel con textura seca y otras fueron hechas poco a poco por mi, son pequeños detalles que le dan un toque muy bonito.

As I was working I made the background, for this I chose to make a forest at night with some game-like lighting, with cracks in the floor and this kind of things. Once this was done I continued with the skin, where I fractioned with some light gray lines part of his chest and arms and then I added the other colors for the lights and shadows, also some cracked details to give shape to the structure of his skin.

Finally I added a layer with multiple fusion which I placed with very low opacity so that the lights of his eyes, runes and the lights of the floor could stand out a little more in the character, here the final result I hope you like it.

Mientras trabajaba hice el fondo, para esto elegí hacer un bosque de noche con algo de iluminación similar a la del juego, con grietas en el suelo y este tipo de cosas. Una vez hecho esto continué con la piel, donde fraccioné con unas líneas de color gris claro parte de su pecho y brazos y luego añadí los demás colores para las luces y sombras, también algunos detalles craquelados para dar forma a la estructura de su piel.

Finalmente agregué una capa con fusión múltiple la cual coloqué con muy baja opacidad para que las luces de sus ojos, runas y las luces del piso resaltaran un poco más en el personaje, aquí el resultado final espero les guste.
