Hello to the Alien Art HIVE family!
I recently joined the HIVE community because my friend @solymi recommended me to do it. You can check out my introduction post on my profile if you would like to 😊
I got very excited to create something for a new Blockchain and immediatly started to work on a little series for this ecosystem. And the first piece is already done, and also up and running on the @nftshowroom (Link down below)
Let me introduce you to the HIVE BEES
Why HIVE bees? Well it was kind of obvious to me to do this because it relates very well to the blockchain I thought. Here is a little overview of what is coming and I hope the people of this community will like it.
Bee hives consist mainly of female bees therefore the collection will feature mostly female characters. But there will also be a male drone (just like in reality) inside the collection.
12 - The Chef Bee
This collection will have 12 hand drawn, PFP Bees and we are working our way up to the top of the list (that you can see above), starting with #12 the Chef Bee.
Hope you guys like the concept and the design of this collection and whoever might pick it up will take a good care of this first Bee.
Design Process
I've looked through a ton of references as I always do when I create my art. And the first step is always to define a pose for the character and start sketching. And that's the sketch I came up with.
Once I am happy and done with the sketch, I usually start to clean it all up with some nice and clean outlines. I am a big comic book and manga fan, that's why I love to use nice black outlines on my artworks.
And once the outlines are done as well it is time to start the best part. The colouring. That's where it's all coming together. Find a colorpalette, do the shading, add some highlights, create a background that fits but not distracts from the main image and finish it all up.
