What a relief that this week's ZAPFIC Monday challenge is finally here. I couldn't resist using the prompt with a smile. However, the word "relief" presented the opportunity to explore a grim version of the word that involved unpleasantness. How often do individuals wait until the last moment to prepare for circumstances they know will occur.
For certain, in our society, the two things that are a surety are taxes and death. Both comes with expenses. You either prepare before or leave it to someone else to shoulder the burden. Too often I have dealt in my life with both in my dealing with my family. I share a flash fiction that is formatted as a 240-character story. The format was created by @felt.buzz.
My story is below:
Known by all to "speak her mind" Nola walked a thin line in efforts to find an appropriate time to talk to family about death preparation. She could convince no one.
Relief came when her aunt passed.

Qué alivio que por fin haya llegado el reto del lunes de ZAPFIC de esta semana. No he podido resistirme a utilizar el tema con una sonrisa. Sin embargo, la palabra "alivio" me brindó la oportunidad de explorar una versión sombría de la palabra que implicaba lo desagradable. Cuántas veces las personas esperan hasta el último momento para prepararse ante circunstancias que saben que van a ocurrir.
Sin duda, en nuestra sociedad, las dos cosas que son una certeza son los impuestos y la muerte. Ambas conllevan gastos. O te preparas antes o dejas que otro asuma la carga. Demasiado a menudo he lidiado en mi vida con ambas cosas en el trato con mi familia. Comparto un flash fiction que tiene formato de relato de 240 caracteres. El formato fue creado por @felt.buzz.

Preparativos para su último día
Conocida por todos por "decir lo que pensaba", Nola se esforzaba por encontrar el momento adecuado para hablar con la familia sobre la preparación para la muerte. No conseguía convencer a nadie.

No one likes to prepare for death but it is necessary. I think we can all learn from Nola
Hello @beckyroyal. No, people don't like to prepare. In fact, they don't even like to think or talk about it. But the fact remains that it is a necessary task that must be addressed at some point. Better sooner than later. I've always heard that it is better to learn about and acquire items before you need them. That way, it's less emotional.
