Prejudice starts at home

A Contemplation

your DNA
helical,
was passed
to me
when
I was a clump
of cells
inside you,
parasitic.
You passed parts of
your brain’s
makeup
to me.
A gaudy rouge
upon my cheek,
the bruising of my psyche
the smashing of my ID
the long drawn out
shredding of my self.
Nurtured by my nature
to the spiral pattern
of family.
You rejected
my quirk
for what you
saw as normal
violent
masculinised;
a toxic presentation
of what is male,
a paranoia made
of centrifugal force
terrorising my
DNA
