Hello fellow travelers, I hope you are enjoying a wonderful week, I am very happy to continue sharing with you a little more of my experience visiting the merideño moor.
After two and a half hours on the road, we arrived at a very popular viewpoint, called the " Wind Curve", this curve has become one of the favorite stops while traveling the trans-Andean road of Merida and is that from this site you can enjoy the breathtaking view that gives you this Andean land.
Hola amigos viajeros, espero estén disfrutando de una semana maravillosa, Estoy muy feliz de seguir compartiendo con ustedes un poco más de mi experiencia visitando el páramo merideño.
Después de dos horas y media de carretera, llegamos a un mirador muy popular, llamado la "Curva del Viento", esta curva se ha convertido en una de las paradas predilectas mientras recorres la carretera trasandina de Mérida y es que desde este sitio puedes disfrutar de la imponente vista que te regala esta tierra andina.
A green paradise, of different shades, that makes you think about how wonderful and majestic nature is. Along with that wonderful contrast that has created the man who tills the land and, thanks to its various crops, has formed a spectacular view that we can appreciate calmly from this viewpoint.
Un paraíso verde, de distintas tonalidades, que te hace pensar en lo maravillosa y majestuosa que es la naturaleza. Junto a ese contraste maravilloso que ha creado el hombre que labra la tierra y que, gracias a sus distintos cultivos, ha formado una vista espectacular que podemos apreciar con tranquilidad desde este mirador.
The wind curve is located a few minutes from the town of Mucuchíes and from here you can not only admire this beautiful landscape, but also begin to feel the paramo climate, since at this point we are more than 2500 meters above sea level. The breeze runs in different directions and you feel the need to start to get warm.
La curva del viento se encuentra ubicada a pocos minutos de la población de Mucuchíes y desde aquí no solo puedes admirar este bello paisaje, sino que además comienzas a sentir el clima de páramo, ya que en este punto nos encontramos a más de 2500 msnm. La brisa corre en distintas direcciones y, sientes la necesidad de comenzar a abrigarte.
At this point of the trip the body begins to acclimatize and prepare to continue ascending. This is a stop worth making. Spending a few minutes here is priceless, just the satisfaction of enjoying the fresh air, the silence, the breeze that refreshes you and the perfect background for some incredible photos.
I loved this stop, because here you have some of the best panoramic views, where we can appreciate the Chama River, also known as the Chamaru River, which according to information from the tour guides who accompanied us is born in the Sierra la Culata National Park in the Mifafí sector, and flows into Lake Maracaibo, being the most important river in this Andean region.
En este punto del viaje el cuerpo comienza a aclimatarse y a prepararse para seguir ascendiendo. Esta es una parada que vale la pena hacer. Pasar unos minutos aquí, no tiene precio, solo la satisfacción de disfrutar del aire puro, el silencio, esa brisa que te refresca y el fondo perfecto de unas fotos increíbles.
Me encanto esta parada, porque aquí tienes unas de las mejores panorámicas, donde podemos apreciar el río Chama, conocido también como el río Chamaru que según información de los guías turísticos que nos acompañaban nace en el parque nacional Sierra la Culata en el sector Mifafí, y desemboca en el lago de Maracaibo, siendo el río más importante de esta región andina.
Here we can see that, in addition to tourism, agriculture is the main economic activity for the inhabitants of the region. These lands are characterized for being great producers of garlic, potatoes, asparagus, lettuce, among other vegetables. In addition, along the road we can see sheep and cattle.
Aquí podemos darnos cuenta de que, además del turismo, la agricultura es el principal medio económico para los habitantes de la región. Estas tierras se caracterizan por ser grandes productores de rubros como el ajo, la papa, los espárragos, la lechuga, entre otras hortalizas. Además, a lo largo de la carretera podemos observar ovejas y ganado vacuno.
Another thing that caught my attention at this stop is a house located a few meters from the riverbed, with a beautiful colonial style architecture. It is not every day that we can have such a perfect view of this type of house, with a central courtyard where the roof and the natural environment complement each other and create an incredible visual harmony.
Otra cosa, que me llamó mucho la atención en esta parada, es una casa que se encuentra a pocos metros del cauce del río, con una arquitectura preciosa, de estilo colonial. No todos los días, podemos tener una vista tan perfecta, de este tipo de casas, con un patio central, donde el techo y el ambiente natural se complementan y crean una armonía visual increíble.
You feel peace, tranquility, happiness and gratitude, to be able to admire, even for a few minutes, this type of landscape, while enjoying a delicious climate that makes you want to come back again and again.
Sientes paz, tranquilidad, felicidad y gratitud, de poder admirar, aunque sea por algunos minutos, este tipo de paisajes, mientras disfrutas de un clima riquísimo, que hace que quieras volver una y otra vez.
If you ever travel along the trans-Andean road in Venezuela, stop at the viewpoint of the wind curve and give yourself the opportunity to live this experience.
Si transitas en alguna oportunidad, por la carretera trasandina de Venezuela, detente en el mirador la curva del viento y date la oportunidad de vivir esta experiencia.
After a few minutes, we continued on our way, happy and eager to continue touring the moor. What was our next stop? I will tell you soon.
