Hello everyone, I hope you are doing great today. Last Saturday I visited two museums. In one, a great artist lived and I have already written about it, and in the other lived Ivo Andric, a famous Serbian writer. Today I will take you through his apartment, which has been turned into a museum.
The day was nice for a walk, so we headed to his street.
Next to the building where the museum is located, there is also his monument. As you walk towards it, you can read his quote on the stairs. It says: "I left. Everything that people said remained behind me like a trail of fog that disappears, and everything that they did, I carried in the palm of my hand."
We reached his building. At the entrance it was written that the museum of Ivo Andric's is located there.
We also saw his terrace from the outside.
We went inside and went up the stairs.
The building is quite old, so I did not dare to take the elevator with the children.
We went upstairs and entered the museum. It was pretty quiet inside.
We had a look at the library. Many of his books have been preserved.
Then we headed down the hall to the rooms.
First we entered a large room where his suit and many personal belongings were preserved.
We saw his radio there. My children were very curious while looking at all those items that no longer exist.
There is his diplomatic trunk.
The armchair he liked to sit in.
He lived in the 20th century and it was fascinating to see his original photographs from this period.
He wrote many literary works that marked Serbian literature and which you can read again and again. His original writings are also preserved in the museum.
He was also famous for the Nobel laureate he received in 1961 as the only Serbian writer who received it.
We saw a lot of interesting items in the museum. A lamp.
Binoculars.
Typewriter.
His living room was very pleasant. I could imagine him sitting there.
There were many pictures on the walls. He was interested in art and carefully chose pictures for his walls, and received many of them as gifts.
I especially liked the blue cups.
When we looked at everything, we got out and headed to the park across the street where my children wanted to play. Next to the Ivo Andric's building, there is The New Court that was built for the royal family at the beginning of the 20th century, and today it houses the office of the President of Serbia.
In front of the New Court is a large park where we spent some time, and directly opposite the park is the National Assembly of Serbia.
Thank you very much for reading.
The images and writing are original and mine.

I didn’t know who he was until this very year, when I stumble on a book give away at my local grocery store and they had The Bridge on the Drina. And I don’t know why but the title caught my attention; I plan to read it this year. Very nice pictures you took there.
Yes, it's his famous book. He was a great writer, it is good to read his books. Thanks for stopping by.
Art Deco House, staircase , I think. Is it in Belgrad?
