TRAVEL SERYE #001 - Our 3-days stay at Ilocos, Philippines.

in Pinmapple3 months ago

What’s up, my wonderful souls? I hope you’re all doing great. It’s me again, your girly Kristal, sharing another bit of happiness from my life. Welcome to my travel series, where I take you to different places in the Philippines with me. This time I’ll share with you all that happened during our 3-day stay in Ilocos Sur and Ilocos Norte, Philippines, with my family. As always, sit tight, take a cup of virtual coffee, make yourself comfy, and let’s go on this adventure together.

Our first destination is Ilocos Sur, also known as the Heritage Village of the Philippines. We left home at 3 a.m. in the morning so we could catch our itinerary in time. We arrived in Ilocos at 9 a.m., so it took us roughly 6 hours to drive. We wasted no time and drove to Baluarte Zoo at Vigan, Ilocos Sur, an 80-hectare recreational tourist attraction owned by Ilocos’ former governor, Chavit Singson. It is a mini-zoo, a safari, a gallery, a museum, a chapel, and many more. The kid in me really enjoyed our visit to Baluarte because there are a lot of activities to do there, like riding a cart that will take you to the whole property, where you can see all the fun activities that you can experience at Baluarte. We also saw a lot of animals, like a huge yellow snake, playful monkeys, and cute little donkeys. You can also find realistic statues of different endangered animals. After a fun day at Baluarte Zoo, we finally decided to rest at our hotel.

Night has come, and we recharged our energy so we could visit the nightlife in Vigan City, Ilocos Sur, and we did. We visited the musical dancing fountain in Vigan City, and it was amazing and spectacular. I really, really enjoyed it! While watching, I was also dancing with the fountain because the music was so uplifting. After an hour of amusement at the Dancing Fountain, we strolled along the streets of Calle Crisologo admiring the only surviving historic city in the Philippines. And finally, in one of my favorite parts of our Vigan tour, we tried their famous Bagnet Ilocos, which is a fried, thick-cut pork belly. It’s salty, it' fatty, and it's very crispy. Oh, what a dish to end our first day at Ilocos!
That’s all for our first day at Ilocos. I hope you enjoyed this travel serye. See you on my next blog for our 2nd day! Stay tuned and stay connected for more adventures ahead. Thank you, mwa! 😘
