Walking 🚶🏽♀️🚶🏿and riding a bike 🚴🏼♀️🚵🏻♀️ are some of the things we like to do most as a family 👨👩👦, seeing places, making Maty discover emotions 🥰. Therefore, despite the free time that has always been very scarce for me lately, I try to respect family moments and make them quality moments, use it on useful things that help us work on strengthening 💪 the family nucleus, trust and the love ❤️ we feel.
Caminar 🚶🏽♀️🚶🏿 y andar en bici 🚵🏻♀️🚴🏼♀️ son de las cosas que más nos gusta hacer en familia 👨👩👦, conocer sitios, hacer que Maty descubra emociones 🥰. Por eso, pese al tiempo libre que últimamente siempre es muy escaso para mí, intento respetar los momentos en familia y hacer de ellos ratos de calidad, emplearlo en cosas útiles y que nos ayuden a trabajar en el fortalecimiento 💪 del núcleo familiar, la confianza y el amor ❤️que sentimos.
That morning we woke up very early, we prepared things: breakfast, we tried to nourish ourselves well for the long walk; snacks and lunch. The day before I had bought spaghetti and meatballs to make a light and easy to prepare meal, it was very delicious 🤤. Then we headed out before the sun started to get strong. Maty had never done that route, my husband and I had. We actually took the bike this time so that the child had somewhere to ride in case he got tired from walking, he is still small.
Esa mañana nos despertamos bien temprano, preparamos las cosas: el desayuno, procuramos nutrirnos bien para la larga caminata; las meriendas y el almuerzo. El día antes había comprado espaguetis y albóndigas para hacer una comida ligera y fácil de preparar, quedó muy rico 🤤. Luego salimos antes de que el sol comenzara a ponerse fuerte. Maty nunca había hecho esa ruta, mi esposo y yo sí. En realidad llevamos la bici esta vez para que el niño tuviese dónde ir montado por si se agotaba de caminar, aún es pequeño.
The first place we arrived was the ruins of the old cement factory, the same place where my husband and I had gone alone days before, but we immediately thought about returning with the child, because he loves heavy machinery, We knew you would enjoy learning about how that equipment once worked.
El primer sitio al que llegamos fue a las ruinas de la antigua fábrica de cemento, al mismo lugar al que días antes habíamos ido solos mi esposo y yo, pero, enseguida pensamos en volver con el niño, pues, le encantan las maquinarias pesadas, sabíamos que iba a disfrutar saber sobre el funcionamiento que alguna vez tuvieron esos equipos.
We were able to enter inside what remains of the factory and we explained to Maty what the devices that lifted the pieces of stone from which the cement was processed were used.
Pudimos ingresar al interior de lo que queda de la fábrica y le explicamos a Maty cómo se utilizaban los aparatos que levantaban los trozos de piedra de donde se procesaba el cemento.
We continued on our way, enjoying the silence of nature. It is not a 100% natural area, it is only on the periphery, away from the city, but it is quite anthropized.
Seguimos nuestro camino, disfrutando del silencio de la naturaleza. No es un área cien por ciento natural, solo está en la periferia, apartada de la ciudad, pero está bastante antropizada.
The next stop would be the Frank País Park. I was only there once and I thought it was a wonderful place for family picnics and camping, that's why I wanted us to go there. I had the idea that we could have a snack there, but it was closed.
La próxima parada sería el Prque Frank País. Solo estuve una vez y me pareció un sitio maravilloso para hacer picnics en familia y acampar, por eso quise que fuésemos hasta allí. Tenía la idea de que pudiésemos merendar en el sitio, pero, estaba cerrado.
Although the Park was closed, we still went to the top of the hill where it is located and enjoyed the views from the top. The air was delicious.
Aunque el Parque estaba cerrado, de igual forma fuimos hasta la cima del cerro en el que se encuentra y disfrutamos de las vistas desde lo alto. Hacía un aire riquísimo.
The little town that is near the place is called Punta Gorda. It reminded me for a moment of Casablanca in Havana, a place I was a few months ago and I wrote a story about it. I really liked visiting it. This time, at times I felt similar sensations.
I saw an old nursery school, also in ruins, it seems that some cyclone destroyed it, the salt from the sea being so close. The town has really beautiful houses, large and comfortable, ideal for spending cool days, reading peacefully, drinking coffee. I let my imagination float thinking about that and I realized that I wouldn't mind having a house in that area despite how far it is from the city. The important thing is that the sea is close.
El pueblito que queda cerca del lugar se llama Punta Gorda. Me recordó por un momento a Casablanca en La Habana, un sitio en el que estuve hace unos meses y les hice una crónica sobre él. Me gustó mucho visitarlo. Esta vez, por momentos sentí sensaciones parecidas.
Vi un antiguo círculo infantil, también en ruinas, parece que algún ciclón lo destruyó, el salitre del mar al estar tan cerca. Tiene casas realmente hermosas el pueblo, grandes y confortables, ideales para pasar días frescos, leyendo plácidamente, tomando café. Dejé flotar mi imaginación pensando en eso y me di cuenta de que no me disgustaría tener una casa por esa zona pese a lo lejos que está de la ciudad. Lo importante es que está cerca el mar.
It really was a beautiful family outing that we thoroughly enjoyed. I recommend to my winter friends from Santiago de Cuba that they venture to visit these places, because it would be a very good option to spend quality time in the company of those they love.
Realmente fue un paseo hermoso en familia que disfrutamos muchísimo. Les recomiendo a mis hivers amigos de Santiago de Cuba que se aventuren a visitar estos sitios, pues, sería una muy buena opción para pasar tiempo de calidad en compañía de quiénes aman.
