Into the wild.

The Trekking.

There are fewer and fewer places where cellular coverage doesn't reach, and cocacola trucks don't arrive... But, if you happen to be in a beautiful port town - Santa Marta in Colombia, just around the corner, there is just such a place!

Have you ever heard of Ciudad Perdida? That is, the lost city? It is the ruins of the Tyrone culture that inhabited the area before the arrival of the Spaniards. And with the help of Europeans - it disappeared fragmenting into smaller tribes that still live in these mountains. And the town itself was abandoned and... forgotten.

It was rediscovered by treasure hunters, and when they began to sell at the local market a mass of items they had evidently found somewhere, word spread that somewhere in the jungle there was something....

A few years later, in 1976 to be exact, the Colombian government became interested in the matter and sent archaeologists and the army to the site. Since then it can be considered that Ciudad Perdida has become a monument. Excavations and reconstructions continued for years. And finally, since the 1980s, the place can be visited - but... not by train or car.

The walk to the lost city takes 2 days. Through the pristine jungle areas of the sierra Nevada de Santa Marta region. 2 days... one way :) return is another 2 days. A total of about 50 km through beautiful natural terrain where you can feel like a real Indiana Johnes! Waterfalls, swimming in the river or in the rain.... And no phones, cars or paved roads.

In other words... 4 days of peace and contact with nature and at the end - a place that hundreds of years ago was teeming with a culture so different from ours....
