Es una isla que ha sufrido numerosas incursiones e incluso bombardeos, especialmente Portoferraio durante la Segunda Guerra Mundial. Respecto a Portoferraio que aparece en la mayoría de las fotos que tomé, es un lugar que ha renacido varias veces y ha sabido reinventarse como destino turístico tras el cierre de los yacimientos de hierro en los años 80. La isla de Elba en aquellos años y en los años 90 era un destino turístico muy popular, hoy sigue de moda entre los italianos y algunos extranjeros esporádicos. Otro lugar que fotografié es Marina Marciana donde paramos a tomar fotos de la vista, es un pueblo muy bonito, una visita que vale la pena explorar, es uno de los pueblos más pequeños con pocos kilómetros de costa, muy querido por los que aman la tranquilidad. .
