Both sides of the rainbow - two pots of gold
It's not everyday that you are blessed to see such a rainbow - where you can see both sides. A pot of gold on each end.
Sotira is a lovely village situated close to Paralimni in Cyprus. The village has an old charm about it.

Located in the Ammochostos (Famagusta) district, the village of Sotira is one of the agricultural ‘red soil villages’ (Kokkinochoria), and produces juicy watermelons, figs and pomegranates, along with ‘kolokasi’ (taro root - colocasia esculanta) - which is celebrated annually with a Kolokasi Festival in September. Later in the day the sun was setting - and later these days.
A sight for sore eyes
I really love Sunsets and the sunsets on this side of the island are really special.
And then the skies darkened and some rain clouds appeared.

Still magnificent if not so peaceful
What a day of changing skies.
The village was founded in the Byzantine period and named after Jesus the Saviour (Sotiros Christou). Its interesting sights include the village church dedicated to Metamorphosis tou Sotiros (Transfiguration of Jesus Christ), which is a significant Medieval monument of the 16th century, and the Ecclesiastical Museum. There are several other churches in the area dating between the 13th - 16th centuries, including the Cruciform church of Panagia Chordakion; the church of Agios Georgios Chordakion; the church of Agios Theodoros (of which only the narthex survives), and the church of Agios Mamas. Close to the village is the famous Nisi Beach where tourists flock each year. It really is one of the most beautiful beaches on the island and also provides pathways for those who enjoy a walk along the coast.
