If you are a lover of nature and ancient ruins, I recommend you to join me in my adventure in Sintra or, well, a small grain of Sintra because this city is huge and has much to discover. In this case I immersed myself in this trip to visit a part of its mountains and discover what hides its nature and I managed to discover beautiful landscapes that today I can share with you.

Si eres amante de la naturaleza y ruinas antiguas, te recomiendo a acompañarme en mi aventura en Sintra o, bueno, un pequeño grano de Sintra porque esta ciudad es enorme y tiene mucho por descubrir. En este caso me sumergí en este viaje para visitar una parte de sus montañas y descubrir qué esconde su naturaleza y logré descubrir hermosos paisajes que el día de hoy puedo compartir contigo.
One of the things I learned on my hikes is to always be prepared with hiking poles if I am going to explore a mountain because we never know the weather, or the environment that awaits us, already at the beginning of the entrance to the mountain it is a very steep path that if you fall you will roll all over the mountain. Luckily, there was no rainy season days before and the terrain was not slippery.

Una de las cosas que aprendí en mis caminatas es siempre estar preparada con los palos para caminata si voy a explorar una montaña porque nunca sabemos el clima, o el entorno que nos espera, ya en el principio de la entrada en la montaña es un camino muy empinado que si te caes rodarás por toda la montaña. Por suerte, no había temporada de lluvia días antes y el terreno no estaba resbaladizo.
In the middle of the trail I found this small waterfall along with a bead surrounded by vegetation and a makeshift bridge made of branches, I really did not want to risk breaking my leg so I crossed the other side from the water, as the bridge did not seem quite stable, I think it was made by a group of explorers, as it is common to find them in this area. Both me and my hiking partner managed to take beautiful pictures and refresh ourselves with the water of the waterfall which is fresh and crystal clear.

En la mitad del camino me encontré con esta pequeña cascada junto con cuenta rodeada de vegetación y un puente improvisado hecho de ramas, realmente no quise arriesgar en romperme la pierna así que cruce el otro lado desde el agua, ya que el puente no parecía del todo estable, creo que hecho por un grupo de exploradores, ya que es común encontrárselos por esta zona. Tanto yo y mi compañero de caminata logramos tomar preciosas fotos y refrescarnos con el agua de la cascada que está fresca y cristalina.
Another thing to highlight about this mountain is its change of environment, at the beginning of the hike the environment was drier and the plants were the same, but as the vegetation advanced it became more humid and cold, one of the things that I loved because we are at the beginning of summer and the sun will cause an easy skin burn or sunstroke. I also photographed areas of the mountain that had small caves, a good refuge for the wild animals of the mountain.

Otra de las cosas por destacar de esta montaña es su cambio de entorno, al principio de la caminata el entorno era más seco y las plantas igual, pero conforme avance su vegetación se volvió más húmedo y frío, una de las cosas que me encanto porque estamos a principio de verano y el sol te causara una quemadura fácil en la piel o insolación. También fotografía zonas de la montaña que tenían pequeñas cuevas, un buen refugio para los animales silvestres de la montaña.
Another surprise that this mountain gave me was an aqueduct, but at the same time it makes sense to find it because this mountain is located near the town of Belas so I imagine when the first kings started to build the aqueducts. This town needed to receive pure water from the mountain.
Fun fact: Some aqueducts are still working and if you manage to find one nearby I encourage you to listen to it maybe you can be surprised to hear water running from its structure. Otra sorpresa que esta montaña me dio fue un acueducto, pero a la vez tiene sentido encontrarlo porque esta montaña está localizada cerca del pueblo de Belas así que me imagino cuando los primeros reyes comenzaron a construir los acueductos. Este pueblo necesitaba recibir agua pura de la montaña.
Dato curioso: Algunos acueductos continuan funcionando y si logras encontrar alguno cerca te animo a escucharlo tal vez puede sorprenderte escuchar agua corriendo de su estructura.
I have a funny and painful anecdote to share with you about my trip, I really didn't know if I felt lucky or unlucky, but almost out of the mountain some hailstones started to fall and one went straight on my head, it didn't cause any serious damage, but without a doubt I can tell you that it is very painful! I was also escorted on the way out by a family of adorable and friendly dogs.

Tengo una anécdota graciosa y dolorosa que compartirles en mi viaje, realmente no sabía si sentirme con suerte o mala suerte, pero ya casi saliendo de la montaña comenzó a caer unos granizos y uno fue directo en mi cabeza, no me llego a causar un daño grave, pero sin dudas le digo que ¡es muy doloroso! También fui escoltada en la salida por una familia de perritos muy adorables y amables.
