This is the last part from both Monastir and Tunisia in general. Today I will show you one of the famous and highly recognizable buildings in Tunisia. The building is quite modern, but its appearance and elements refer to both contemporary Arab culture and those from the old days. It was built in honor of one of the inhabitants of Monastir who grew up here and who changed the face of Tunisia. I am writing here about the Mausoleum of Habib Burgiba.

To już ostatnia część zarówno z Monastyru jak i w ogóle z samej Tunezji. Dziś pokażę wam jeden z słynnych i mocno rozpoznawalnych budowli w Tunezji. Budowla jest dość współczesna ,ale nawiązuje swoim wyglądem jak i elementami zarówno do współczesnej kultury arabskiej ,jak i tej z dawnych czasów . Została ona zbudowana na cześć jednego z mieszkańców Monastyru który tu właśnie się wychowywał ,a który zmienił oblicze Tunezji . Piszę tu o Mauzoleum Habiba Burgiby.

In short, Habib Burgiba who, as I mentioned, was born in Monastir and also grew up in it. He was Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Tunisia and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Defense in 1956-1957. And in the years 1957-1987 he was the first president of Independent Tunisia. As a politician, he sought the independence of Tunisia from France, he became the leader of the independence party to finally lead to the liberation of his country. When he became prime minister, he managed to abolish the monarchy and liberalize life in Tunisia. What I wrote is only a small part of the impact this man had on the whole country. We can learn more about him from the web. Now to the point. A really wide and nicely decorated promenade leads to the Mausoleum, you can see that efforts were made here to give respect, even in details.

W dużym skrócie, Habib Burgiba który to jak już wspomniałem urodził się w Monastyrze, a tak że w nim się wychowywał. Był on premierem Królestwa Tunezji ,oraz ministrem spraw zagranicznych i obrony w latach 1956–1957. A w latach 1957–1987 był pierwszym prezydentem Niepodległej Tunezji. Jako polityk dążył on do niepodległości Tunezji wobec Francji , stał się on liderem niepodległościowej partii by ostatecznie doprowadzić do wyzwolenia swojego kraju. Gdy został premierem, udało mu się znieść monarchię oraz zliberalizował życie w Tunezji. To co napisałem ,to tylko cząstka tego jaki wpływ miał ten człowiek na cały kraj. Więcej o nim możemy dowiedzieć się z sieci, a teraz do rzeczy . Do Mauzoleum prowadzi naprawdę szeroka i ładnie urządzona promenada , widać że starano się tu oddać hołd ,nawet w detalach .

To enter the building, we must enter through a smaller gate on the side. What catches our eye as soon as we enter are the arches, and ornaments, and the ubiquitous marble. Let's see what's around the building, we'll look at the arcades, the tower and many other elements.

Aby wejść na teren budynku ,musimy przejść przez mniejszą bramę, która znajduję się z boku. To co nam się rzuca w oczy zaraz po wejściu to łuki i ozdoby , oraz wszech obecny marmur. Zobaczmy co znajduję się wokół budowli , przyjrzymy się arkadom , oraz wieżą i wielu innym elementom.

We go inside, the building has two levels, on the ground floor there is a small museum with things belonging to Burgiba and opposite, behind the decorative carats, there is a marble coffin in which his body was laid. By stairs we can go to the upper level from where we can see the coffin from the arcades / balcony that extends around a central place over which is an ornate dome. All this is wonderfully made, decorated and the main material is marble, in a word it is rich but tasteful.

Wchodzimy do środka ,budynek ma dwa poziomy ,parter na którym znajduję się malutkie muzeum z rzeczami należącymi do Burgiby a na przeciw za ozdobnymi karatami znajduję się marmurowa trumna w której złożono jego ciało. Po schodach możemy wejść na wyższy poziom skąd możemy zobaczyć trumnę z arkad/ balkonu który ciągnie się wokół centralnego miejsca nad którym jest ozdobna kopuła. Wszystko to jest wspaniale wykonane , ozdobione ,a głównym materiałem jest marmur, jednym słowem jest na bogato ale ze smakiem .

Kolejne blogi które mam w planach wrzucać, będą dotyczyć Anglii, przynajmniej do puki nie wyskoczymy gdzieś na wakacje w tedy postaram się też napisać o tym miejscu.
