Hello dear friends,

At the moment, I am enjoying a vacation period, and just yesterday, I made a stop in Tuscany to reach my destination. I decided to take a break in a place that I hadn't visited in a long time, called Bagni San Luca. It is located near Mount Amiata and is considered one of the freest and most accessible thermal areas in Tuscany.

You have probably already noticed on some famous social media platforms the photos of this incredible place, also known as the White Whale. The reason for this name is evident: the majestic rock formations that rise here resemble the shape of a mighty cetacean, especially due to the color formed by the limestone. Located near the municipality of Castiglione d'Orcia, in the province of Siena, this place has become a very popular tourist destination for many years. The reason for its success lies in the combination of the beneficial thermal properties of these springs and their free accessibility. In fact, as you can see from the pictures, the thermal pools are always crowded with visitors, even during the winter months.

These thermal waters are renowned for their positive effects on health and offer a relaxing and rejuvenating experience for the body and mind. People come here from all over to enjoy the benefits of the thermal waters and spend moments of pure well-being.

By the way, it was a somewhat adventurous choice to come here in summer with its scorching 30 degrees, considering that the water reaches a temperature of about 52 degrees. But you know very well that I am not so normal. As you can imagine, this thermal spring is rich in limestone and minerals, probably offering therapeutic and relaxing properties. However, during the summer months, there is a risk of suffocating from the heat. Personally, I stayed only for half an hour, but I wanted to share this place because, in my opinion, it represents an authentic and unique characteristic gem of Tuscany, even though it is not the only free thermal area.

Then, the wonderful thing, as you can see from the photos I have shared, is that these pools have formed completely naturally and are surrounded by a naturally beautiful landscape. Many people come here not only to enjoy the thermal baths but also to take a large number of photos. In fact, I think it is one of the most photographed places in Tuscany. Unfortunately, in recent years, due to its great popularity on social media, it has been literally stormed by thousands of people every day. As a result, the tranquility and relaxation of the past are no longer found. I still remember many years ago when I discovered this place; there was practically never anyone, but now it is different.

I hope you found the place interesting, and I hope you liked the photos. We will definitely see each other soon because I will share other parts of my journey. Thank you so much, and have a good day.

Good to see this as a relaxation spot, i guess people really grow fond of this lake, to be coming here quite often

Glad to see this place, the color of the water is milky, different from other water colors. Does this have an effect on the water temperature
