Thailand Part #3: soft cutie Giants
Hello dear diary, hello dear Hive community,
For the new year, on January 6, 2024 to be precise, I was able to see elephants outdoors for the first time. Wow I say, very impressive creatures.
But back to the beginning, what was I doing that day? I remember that it was a busy day.
First, I had breakfast with friends at Joy Beach at the bar/restaurant of the same name. The corner there is very pleasantly relaxed, which I like.
After an extensive and healthy breakfast a la Thai style and 2 to 3 hours later, I got a call from other friends who wanted to take me on an elephant tour. Can you say that? Well, as everyone probably knows, there are elephants that are kept in cramped enclosures, which are less species-appropriate. But there are also free-living elephants or those that live with people in the open.
These places are a little more natural for viewing these juicy pachyderms. I was taken with the idea, as I had never had the opportunity to see an elephant in its normal or natural environment before. But I wanted to go to a yoga class first. So I had agreed with my friends to sign up for yoga.
I set off to yoga, but to my shame I had made a mistake or hadn't checked beforehand and found myself standing in front of closed doors. 😅
"What the heck", I thought to myself, took out my phone and called my friends. They were happy because I was now able to leave 2 hours earlier so we could all go to the elephants.
For me, it felt like we were just driving through the jungle. Disoriented, I waited and enjoyed the view.
When we arrived at our destination, we clarified everything and were allowed to wait, as the elephants were on their natural round and not simply being dragged to the tourists. I think that's very good. After about 30 minutes, a few roamed past. The guide asked us to get into the car to take us to the watering hole where the elephants were about to go.
Once there, you could even bathe with the elephants if you wanted to. Yes, they were tame. After all, they live together with the people there somewhere in the middle of nowhere.
I was impressed by these beautiful creatures. So strong and powerful, yet very careful and cautious at the same time. Mother Nature creates fantastic creatures.
After this bathing fun, the elephants continued on their relaxed way and we were driven back.
Once there, we were able to get changed again and have something to drink and eat. The whole thing took about 2.5 hours (unfortunately I didn't look at the clock). As I was invited, I don't know how much something like this normally costs.
After this unique and unforgettable experience, we got ready to enjoy a late lunch or early dinner. We drove to Aonang Krabi, where all the tourists hang out. 😅

Like I said, I started the day relaxed with a nice breakfast at the beach.
Wie ich schon gesagt habe, ich startete den Tag relaxt mit einem guten Frühstück am Strand.
These are the well-known Thai pancakes. Here with Nutella and banana.
Das sind die bekannten Thai Pancakes. Hier mit Nutella einmal und Banane.
We also treated ourselves to a small fruit plate and mango with coconut creme and sticky rice.
Ebenso gönnten wir uns noch einen kleinen Früchte Teller und Mango mit Kokossauce und Klebereis.
Ah yeah, I also got some nice stuff in the shops which ai shared with my friends.
Ach ja, ich habe auch ein paar schöne Sachen in den Geschäften gekauft, die ich mit meinen Freunden geteilt habe.
My friends brought me to Krabi downtown where I could get a coffee to go and fast I was on my way to Yoga...
Meine Freunde brachten mich in die Innenstadt von Krabi, wo ich mir einen Kaffee zum Mitnehmen holen konnte und schon war ich auf dem Weg zum Yoga...
Oh gosh, am I stupid? Why I didn't checked the times before. In my mind I was thinking there will be a class all day long but they have special times. Ok, no worries. Plan B will gets Plan A. So I called my friend again to drive us to the elephants.
Oh Gott, bin ich dumm? Warum habe ich mich nicht vorher über die Zeiten informiert. In meinem Kopf dachte ich, dass der Unterricht den ganzen Tag über stattfindet, aber es gibt spezielle Zeiten. Ok, keine Sorge. Plan B wird zu Plan A. Also rief ich wieder meinen Freund an, damit er uns zu den Elefanten fährt.
We drove a while. No clue where we were. No orientation at all in this area. But it was beautiful.
Wir fuhren eine Weile. Keine Ahnung, wo wir waren. Überhaupt keine Orientierung in dieser Gegend. Aber es war wunderschön.
But we talked to the people there or better said my friends organized all and after 30 Minutes we drove to the spot which the elephants should cross and take a bath.
Aber wir sprachen mit den Leuten dort oder besser gesagt meine Freunde organisierten alles und nach 30 Minuten fuhren wir zu der Stelle, die die Elefanten überqueren und ein Bad nehmen sollten.
And there they are... Elephantastic Power is walking relaxed forward.
Und da sind sie... Elefantastische Kraft bewegt sich entspannt voran.
What a sight. I immediately feel calm and peaceful when I look at the pachyderms. ❤️
Welch Anblick. Da stellt sich sofortige Ruhe und Frieden beim Betrachten der Dickhäuter bei mir ein. ❤️
Of course the sweeties didn't run that fast, I had to speed up the recordings and reduce the quality to be able to upload them here. I still hope that everyone likes it as much as I do. ☺️
Natürlich sind die Süßen nicht so schnell gelaufen, ich musste wegen dem Upload die Aufnahmen beschleunigen und in der Qualität drosseln, um diese hier hochladen zu können. Ich hoffe trotzdem, dass es allen so gefällt wie mir. ☺️

People were allowed to wash the elephants with the given equipment and under guidance.
die Leute durften die Elefanten waschen, wenn sie es wollten. Das mit dem gegebenen Equipment und unter Anleitung und Obhut.
I wasn't down in the water and taking a bath with the cuties. I was respectfully standing in distance first and looking around.
ich war nicht unten im Wasser mit den Süßen baden. Ich stand respektvoll in Distanz und schaute mich um.
Last but not least, at the end of their bath, I got the chance to come closer. Wowowow.
doch zum Schluß, final am Ende, nach ihrem Bad, bekam ich die Chance näher rankommen zu dürfen.
At the end, we were driven back to the main building, if you can call it that. We sat there for a while and chatted. There was also this nice information sign.
Am Ende wurden wir zurück gefahren, zum Hauptgebäude, wenn man es so nennen kann. Dort saßen wir noch kurz und unterhielten uns. Dort stand auch dieses schöne Informationsschild.
And? How could you end a day with friends? With Pizza for sure! But I took the red curry 😇 I love Thai food so much ❤️.
Und wie kann man einen Tag mit Freunden beenden? Mit Pizza, ganz klar! Aber ich habe das rote Curry genommen 😇 Ich liebe thailändisches Essen so sehr ❤️.
We went somewhere else again for dinner. I think in Aonang and no longer Krabi Downtown. Wow, I'm telling you, I completely lost my bearings that day, the amount of driving we did back and forth. Everything is actually in the area, but - similar to Vienna or other cities - the area is divided into districts and there is jungle between the different ones. 😅 To put it very simply, so that you can get a rough idea of what it's like.
Zum Abendessen waren wir wieder woanders. Ich glaube in Aonang und nicht mehr Krabi Downtown. Hui, ich sag es euch, an dem Tage habe ich völlig die Orientierung verloren, so viel wie wir hin und her gefahren sind. An sich ist alles in der Gegend, doch - ähnlich wie in Wien oder anderen Städten - ist es die Gegend in Bezirke aufgeteilt und zwischen den unterschiedlichen Örtchen liegt Dschungel. 😅 Um es sehr vereinfacht zu sagen, so dass man sich in etwa etwas darunter vorstellen kann.

Zumindest jetzt noch mein Wassermelonen-Shake und meine Sonnenbrille. Prost, was für ein Tag...
Reisetagebuch einer Österreicherin
Thailand Teil 3: süße, sanfte Riesen
Hallo liebes Tagebuch, Servus werte Hive Gemeinde,
Zum neuen Jahr, genauer gesagt am 6. Januar 2024 durfte ich zum ersten mal Elefanten im Freien sehen. Wow sage ich da nur, sehr beeindruckende Geschöpfe.
Aber zurück zum Anfang, was hatte ich an diesem Tag alles so gemacht? Ich erinnere mich, dass es ein busy Day war.
Zuerst frühstückte ich mit Freunden am Joy Beach bei der gleichnamigen Bar bzw. Restaurant. Das Eckchen dort ist sehr angenehm entspannt, was mir zusagt und gefällt.
Nach einem ausgiebigen und gesunden Frühstück a la Thai Art und 2 bis 3 Stunden später bekam ich einen Anruf von anderen Freunden, welche mich mitnehmen wollten auf eine Elefanten Tour. Kann man das so sagen? Also, wie wahrscheinlich allseits bekannt ist gibt es Elefanten, welche dort in engen Gehegen gehalten werden, weniger artgerecht. Aber es gibt auch frei Lebende bzw. Welche, die mit Menschen im Freien leben.
Diese Orte sind etwas natürlicher um diese saften Dickhäuter zu betrachten. Ich war angetan von der Idee, schließlich habe ich bislang nicht so die Gelegenheit gehabt mal einen Elefanten in seiner normalen oder natürlichen Umgebung zu sehen. Doch ich wollte vorher noch zu einer Yoga Klasse. Somit hatte ich mit meinen Freunden abgesprochen mich nqch dem Yoga zu melden.
Ich machte mich nun auf zum Yoga, doch zu meiner Schande hatte ich was verplant bzw. nicht vorher nochmal nachgeschaut und stand vor verschlossenen Pforten. 😅
"Was soll's." dachte ich bei mir, nach mein Telefon raus und rief meine Freunde an. Diese freuten sich, denn dadurch das ich nun 2 Std. früher schon konnte, konnten wir alle zu den Elefanten fahren.
Für mich fühlte es sich so an, als würden wir einfach durch den Dschungel fahren. Orientierungslos wartete ich ab und genoss die Aussicht.
Am Ziel angekommen klärten wir alles ab und durften erstmal warten, da die Elefanten auf ihrer natürlichen Runde waren und nicht einfach zu den Touristen gezerrt werden. Das finde ich sehr gut. Nach ca. 30 Minuten streiften ein paar vorbei. Der Guide bat uns in den Wagen, um uns zu der Wasserstelle zu bringen, wo die Elefanten grade hin wollten.
Dort angekommen konnte man, wenn man es wollte, mit den Elefanten sogar baden. Ja, diese waren zahm. Schließlich leben sie mot den Menschen dort irgendwo im Nirgendwo zusammen.
Ich war beeindruckt von diesen wunderschönen Wesen. So stark und kraftvoll, doch sehr vorsichtig und zugleich Bedacht. Fantastische Geschöpfe erschafft Mutter Natur.
Nach diesem Badespaß liefen die Elefanten ganz entspannt weiter ihres Weges und wir wurden zurück gefahren.
Dort angekommen konnte man sich wieder umziehen und auch etwas trinken und essen. Das Ganze hat eventuell und schätzungsweise (habe leider nicht auf die Uhr geschaut) 2,5 Stunden gedauert. Da ichh eingeladen wurde weiß ich auch nicht, was sowas regulär kostet.
Nach diesem einmaligen und unvergesslichen Erlebnis machhten wir uns auch schon fertig und bereit, um das späte Mittag oder frühe Abendessen zu genießen. Dazu fuhren wir nach Aonang Krabi, wo alle Touris auch abhängen. 😅
Wir entspannten und schnaggten bis in die Nacht noch hinein.

Just wow because you spotted elephants today and they took bath. I have never imagined that I could spot elephants in real life. I hope one day I could also see elephants and could take close up pictures.

Es sieht wirklich schön aus😊 Heute scheint endlich wieder die Sonne in Österreich... Der Regen hat mich schon verrückt gemacht. Bleibt da 😂
Hahaha. Servus dir erstmal. Ja, das war auch der Grund meiner Reise. Der Winter hat mich wirklich runtergezogen dieses mal. Daher mache ich es wie die Zugvögel und überwintere mal weit weg im Süden. 🤣😇😎
