Sometimes it is difficult to pick one out, without some fear of missing out. We were on the hunt for the best Bangkok flea market where the art and vintages are in the main role. Why visit a flea market? The flea market offers an insight into the culture. In addition to that it is quite an awesome place for souvenirs, or who knows, a hidden gem.
What is a Flea Market?
No, Flea Market is not a market where you can buy “the wingless bloodsuckers”. Although, you might get those for free if you happen to buy some second-hand pillows. One can buy many previously owned things at the local flea market. We bet that every bigger city in the world has a flea market that happens seasonally once a week. Sadly, in some places, they already started commercializing them, even though flea markets have existed for millennia.
Bangkok Flea Market
We agree with those who say that Bangkok is a shopping paradise. Where else can the street host a flea market after the rush hour is over? Of course, Bangkok has many more flea markets in well-known places, and most of them happen on weekends. Some are specialized while others surprise with unlikely finds. However, if you want to avoid the sun, we suggest the Night Flea Market.
Chatuchak Weekend Market
Expect a big crowd at the biggest flea market on earth. Today the giant market has about 15,000 stalls that are organized in 27 sections. Who knows how the offer changed since the establishment of the Chatuchak in 1942? A lot happened since then, including an unsuccessful location change and a clock tower as a birthday present to the King.
Indeed, we must mention also the dark side of the Chatuchak Market – the illegal wildlife trade. When will people realize that Earth is an ecosystem that needs to be balanced to survive? Make no mistake, humanity is part of Earth’s ecosystem where diversity matters. However, for all antiques and vintage stuff lovers, there are weekend Chatuchak markets, where you might find treasure!
Camp Vintage Flea Market
Camp Vintage Flea Market aka Chang Chui Plane Night Market is another treat for vintage and antiques lovers. Truth be told, we visited the market on Wednesday, the only day that the market was closed. On other days artsy market stays open from 11 am to 11 pm. Even though we didn’t find any vendors in this creative hub we still enjoyed delicious coffee at the Pompano Cafe and saw some great stuff through store windows.
Besides that, we got to enjoy attractive territory without a fuss. In addition to carefree window-shopping, we got to see the grounded plane in all its glory. This area is often called the heart of the market, maybe because of the “aviation” restaurant. Not far away are two spaces for live night performances that emphasize that the Chang Chui Market is much more than a place of bargain.
Rod Fai Market (Train Market)
Upon entering Rod Fai Market, visitors are transported to a bygone era, where vintage reigns supreme and nostalgia permeates the air. The market’s sprawling grounds are dotted with repurposed shipping containers, old warehouses, and eclectic stalls adorned with neon signs and retro paraphernalia. Every corner holds a new surprise, a hidden gem waiting to be unearthed.
One of the market’s most enchanting features is its focus on all things vintage. From classic automobiles and motorbikes to antique furniture and retro memorabilia, Rod Fai Market is a treasure trove for collectors and enthusiasts alike. Lose yourself in a sea of vinyl records, rare comic books, and vintage clothing, each item carrying with it a story of its own.
Khlong Thom Market

It is hard to say which is the best Bangkok flea market. However, if you are in search of vintage and art, then Camp Vintage Flea Market and Chatuchak Weekend Market are for you! Reasonably if you are looking for new stuff, clothes, and fake sunglasses there are many other flea markets. We are always in search of artsy ones, with souls.
