Cassie's birthday is coming up and Jake is planning a party for her. George and Gwen, who just came back from their honeymoon want to help find a location for the event.
Gwen's son, Drew, returns with the intention to get married with hopes that the financial app he is working on pays off big. Will he make amends with his mother, Gwen, who he has not spoken to in five years?
Drew runs into his first love Mia who becomes Cassie's daughters babysitter.
Brandon comes to visit, bringing his girlfriend, while Lori's love of writing brings her to a discovery about Cassie's great aunt, Elizabeth Merriwick. But with her professor advising her to find something else to write about.
The more Lori digs the more she becomes concerned about all the coincidences between what was going on with Elizabeth during her time and what is going on with Cassie, who has had a not so good encounter with Drew.
Between Drew's anger over a contract error and Brandon's news of eloping can things be set right in time for Cassie's party or will Drew take revenge on her?
I am really enjoying the dynamics of the characters and their relationships but would love to learn more about Elizabeth Merriwick. Of course the contrast between Cassie and Martha keeps me coming back for more. The one character I am not sure about is Brandon's girlfriend. She feels a bit forced.
I also got to see the first episode of the series which is the length of a movie. There were some things that have happened before the series so I can not write on it before I have seen all the movies. Both the movies and the series can be seen on youtube.
