The Saturday Savers Club's first subscription savings plan!
The SPI subscription savings plan was launched in February 2024 and applications to join closed on Friday 8 March 2024 . This post is a very short update after the plan has been running for two weeks to report how everything is going. Below this week's report, you can see the allocations for each of the subscribers, arrangements for paying the weekly subscription, the release dates for each round of SPI and information about the SPI token.
Week 2 Report: Sunday 24 March 2024
Everything is working perfectly. There were one or two hiccups with a couple of subscribers in the first week or two, but everything has been sorted out now:
- one subcriber missed the first week and has submitted a catch-up payment in addition to the remaining programme of recurring transfers.
- one subscriber had set the incorrect interval for recurring transfers but that has been corrected now.
So, at the end of week 2, everything is working perfectly. This is great: the idea is to pilot a subscription savings plan that involves very little work for either savers or operators. It seems we are on point!
There will probably be a report every fourth week to coincide with each release date of SPI tokens.
Subscribers
This was an exclusive SPI sale for people registered on the Savers Chart on the weekly Saturday Savers Club post. It is one of the benefits of being a member of the Club along with the chance to:

How to Pay Weekly Subscriptions
Please transfer weekly subscriptions to @eds-holdings.
You can use the wallet in peakd.com to set up recurring transfers.
The first subscription is due by 18:00 UTC on Friday 15 March 2024.
When you transfer your first subscription, set up recurring payments for 40 transfers every 7 days (168 hours). The first one will transfer immediately.
Weekly transfers will be:
- 1.13 HIVE for 10 SPI
- 2.26 HIVE for 20 SPI
- 3.39 HIVE for 30 SPI

The weekly transfers will run for 40 weeks, with the last one due by 18:00 UTC on Friday 13 December 22024.
The weekly transfers will be checked and, providing transfers have taken place, SPIs will be released every fourth Sunday.
Defaulting Subscribers
Any subscribers who default may, after any paid-for SPI have been transferred, be excluded from the plan. Any remaining SPI from their allocation will be returned to the pool.
The aim of the pilot is to have a hassle-free subscription plan which can be used for other projects in the future. It is the responsibility of subscribers to ensure they can make their transfer every week.

More About SPI
SPI is a growth token which is now in its fifth year of operation. The fund is managed by @silverstackeruk.
The original fund value was 13,000 USD in 2019 and was valued at 177,175 USD on Sunday 3 March 2024. The fund is hard-capped at 94,000 tokens.
The fund has over thirty investment streams with roughly 47% in HIVE, 10% in Hive-Engine tokens and 43% in off-Hive investments including BTC and ETH and non-crypto investments. The fund aims to grow by 20% this year. It has plans in place to take advantage of changes in the external environment including the BITCOIN:HIVE and the HIVE:HBD ratios over the next eighteen months. The fund provides an earnings and holdings report each Sunday on the @spinvest account.
SPI pays a small dividend in HIVE each week, roughly equivalent to 9.6% APY, but this is not the main purpose of the investment fund.
SPI has a 95% buyback guarantee.
SPI is a long-term savings investment.

Can everybody just join in with the transfers?
No: it was set plan with a budget of 300 SPI. Everyone who was interested had to apply for an allocation within a deadline, and all the allocations were made two weeks ago. Only the subscribers listed in the post will receive SPI.
If this plan works well, I'm sure we'll be doing other things in the future.
