Breaking a heart in search of other horizons/ WEEK 197

Hello, delighted to participate in this community, in which is almost one of the few that I can do it because my work hardly allows me to sit down to write.

Many will think that the above is a pretext, but, those who have followed my writings know that I am an emigrant, in a country where I arrived on December 3, 2023 and since that very moment I have had to work to be able to pay my bills and help my family.

In today's initiative @galenkp proposes several topics and I decided on this one because it is related to the life I have been living for several months.

Have I stolen someone's heart and then broken it?

The answer to this question is yes. Let me tell you:

Since 2020 I started a relationship with the one who would be the mother of my youngest son. It was a love at first sight, one of those that you know that by fertilizing it, cultivating it and taking care of it is enough to last a lifetime.

A year later our son was born and the relationship remained intact, but conditions in Cuba worsened with the pandemic, the world economic crisis and the country's own mistakes and I could not pay for my family's expenses.

That is when the debate with my inner self began and I decided to leave the country in search of better conditions.

Of course I had to discuss it with my wife, but she did not understand it because she considered that our love was stronger, the love of the child a priority and our family sacred. I kept on exposing my criteria that it was the only way to be able to help them and she that I was breaking her heart with my departure.

In the end, I decided to leave and on July 18, 2023 I left for Mexico and from there to the United States where I entered on December 3 of the same year.
That separation broke my ex-wife's heart and I decided to end the relationship.

I may have acted in a wrong and selfish way, but, it was the way I had and have to be able to help them.

Key. I used the translator DeepL Translate.
