You're right, it does dry out faster. I became obsessed with tomatoes...the challenge always gets me, the more difficult the more I want to try it and get good at it. Frankly, I'm surprised I've been able to get good at it. Vegetables like that in containers was a very big adjustment, since I'm used to farming, not this kind of gardening.
