I Always Wanted to Travel In Time- #TheWeekend WE85 Post Topic

in Weekend Experiences2 years ago (edited)

When I read H. G. Wells’s novel “The Time Machine” I was too excited. It fascinated me reading about that person, who was sitting on a special chair with several bulbs fitted around that machine. Several dials and switches fit around him. He then sets the dials, presses some buttons, and finds himself in thousands of years in the future. That was a long time ago, but I am still curious about that. I wish I could go back in time or move in the future while sitting on such a time machine.

We all know this is nothing but a sci-fi story, but I am too curious to go through this experience. I also know that most scientists have never believed in the fantasy or concept of time travel. I am not a scientist, but I know that it’s not possible because going into the future or past needs a speed that would be too fast for a human.

Even the speed of light is enough only to move a person only a few centimeters. That means we need a faster speed to go in the future, but at the same time, we also know that nothing moves faster than the speed of light, so this will remain only a fantasy for me and nothing more. Image

I know this idea fascinates many other people, because they want to change their past or see their future. But aren’t they trying to do something that is not even possible? I think it’s not possible to see before something is due to happen. I don’t believe any person will ever be able to go back and forth in time. However, as I said in the beginning, I am curious to go in the future and see what’s in store for me.

I take every opportunity to see or read about a time travel story because I want to travel through time as I’ve seen in science fiction. I am curious to find a method of going into the future, but it should be foolproof because I don’t want to die or wouldn’t want to get destroyed in case something goes wrong on the way. Also, I want to make 100 percent sure that after I reach into the future, I will be able to come back... safe.

I have read Stephen Hawking-

The best evidence we have that time travel is not possible, and never will be, is that we have not been invaded by hordes of tourists from the future.

See, the biggest obstacle in the way of the concept of time travel is the controversies attached to it. For example, what if I go in the future and kill my future wife before she is even born? I’m laughing at the thought of her dying before she was even born. Will I live alone indefinitely or try to find another wife when I return to the present?

The funny thing is that Stephen Hawking himself was opposed to the concept of time travel. He also said that he had empirical evidence for this. According to him, if time travel is possible, then where is the time traveler coming from in the future? Because there is no time traveler from the future, time travel is not possible.

Or maybe they are here, but they are not telling us they have come from the future or past. I am looking forward to the day when someone knocks on my door and says he has come from the future or the past. Probably I will ask him to take me with him lol.

I believe in the same thing that Hawking believes-

Time travel is possible but not practical.

I have read that a person has traveled in time, but he did it for a fraction of a second.

However, I am still interested, curious, and ready to travel in the past or future, provided you have a foolproof scheme for me.

Time travel is indeed something that today is perhaps not such a big mystery :)
You did a good job.

Oh, absolutely, yes! The concept is the most curious of ideas, who wouldn’t like to view their past or their future? Fun read ❤️❤️

I read this book a long time ago; it's a classic and a terrific book to set one to thinking about life and space.

It's interesting, Hawkings' comment that time travel is possible but not practical. I can hardly begin to offer an opinion on this with so many others far more educated struggling to make sense of this possibility.

I suppose, however, that as one enters the past, the future is altered in a way that the past never existed in the first place. It simply becomes the only reality. But hey - what do I know? lol

Great post to get my mind turning first thing in the morning!

Cheers!

As long the theory of light's speed is true time travel is not possible. Thank you!

Man it would be so cool, though I would be more interested to travel into the past than into the future, but since I am a historian I guess not everybody feels the same haha
