As a fan of WWE, I am really excite about tonight’s episode of Raw on May 20, 2024. We had been waiting for this day after weeks of the King and Queen of the Ring tournaments taking place, and now we are in the semifinals. Tonight’s scheduled fights are full of promises.
Firstly, Gunther vs Jey Uso is among the most exciting semi finals in recent memory. Gunther has been a force to reckon with exhibiting a lot of power and technique. His win over Kofi Kingston last week was nothing less than amazing. Although Kofi tried his best, Gunther’s determination also coupled with strategic use of submissions demonstrates why he is a serious contender. How Gunther manages to combine power moves with submission tactics which makes him an adaptable and unpredictable adversary really intrigues me.
Nevertheless, Jey Uso has had a remarkable journey. His win against Ilja Dragunov confirmed his agility and warrior spirit. It was a hard fought match with both men exhibiting unbelievable endurance and skill. Jey’s ability to pull off high flying moves and his pure determination had endeared him to the fans. It has been amazing watching him go from being a tag team specialist to becoming one of the top singles competitors around. The clash between Gunther’s brute strength and Jey’s agility and resilience should make for a spectacular match. I am behind Jey but I know that Gunther is going to give everything he has.
In the Queen of the Ring tournament, it will be IYO SKY versus Lyra Valkyria, a match up that most likely would end in a victory for SKY. When she beat Shayna Baszler, people noticed that her athleticism as well as quick wits in ring are improved; she’s just an outstanding performer who can adapt herself well to any opponents.
Lyra Valkyria is also a force to reckon with considering that she beat Zoey Stark. Her matches are always intense and her entry into the wrestling ring is always unique among others. Innovative offense and taking advantage of the mistakes made by her opponent in Lyra’s victory over Zoey marked it special. The semifinal between IYO and Lyra will be an exhibition of skills and resolve. I am interested to know whether either of these girls will proceed to the finals.
The other interesting fight on tonight’s show will be the non-title match between Sami Zayn and Chad Gable. Currently, Sami is reigning Intercontinental Champion who has been doing great in recent times. His last week’s bout against Otis saw him dodge an attack from Gable before he struck back at him. This rivalry has been brewing for some time now, and tonight’s match will just add another chapter to their story. Sami’s wits inside the ring versus Gable’s technical abilities will be an interesting contestation. Sami has always entertained me during his fights because he can change its course with one of his imaginative moves at any given moment.
All in all, the WWE Raw episode tonight promises to be a memorable one. The King and Queen of the Ring semi-finals are bound to be explosive. I can’t wait for these matches, and I want to see what happens next before they get into the finals in Jeddah. It has been an interesting path for each wrestler, but tonight will see us getting nearer to having new King and Queen of the Ring. This is my expectation when I switch on my television later today.
