Should top20 witnesses be posting daily ?

in Ask the Hive4 years ago

Top20 Witnesses make loads of money for running servers.

Most of them are not even voting, some make extra cash curating but we have literally 1-2 that keep making daily posts to milk the reward pool.

Everyone is allowed to make 10 posts a day, while of course more then 2 is called abuse. Shouldn't daily (not every X days) posts be abuse of top20 witnesses ?

I give as an example this guy https://peakd.com/@themarkymark/posts with daily 1-2 posts, despite top20 (even top10) position making him crazy money overrunning a once installed server.

Before he replies from some multiaccs: yes I do have a problem with him for some time, but does this change objectivity of that reward pool rape from 2 sides that he does ?

Downvote him if you think he gets too many rewards.

When you downvote someone their rewards are returned to the reward pool. Its fairly simple.

If you downvote someone who has a much bigger weight than you, they can revenge downvote and it will devistate the power of your account.

Who cares? I still do it.

Have you ever tried this option yourself with top 20 witness?

He lived to tell the tale.

There's also the third side.

So you mean witness should not post if they gather votes?

I always say it is not worth our time to compare with others'success. I believe it is better to focus on what value you can bring on the market and have fun doing it.

pls campaign to have one account one vote when it comes to witness voting to reduce influence of whales

If his posts are spam or he is self voting for large amounts, then sure it's abuse. On the other hand, if they are legitimate posts, why should he not be able to make them? That's what this platform is for and presumably at least part of the reason he is interested in it. Also, I think being a witness, particularly a top 20 witness, is a lot more work than a one time server set up. Plus, there are monthly costs associated with running a server. I don't doubt that top witnesses make a profit but it isn't ALL profit. Downvoting for disagreement with rewards is the way to go. Leave a polite comment explaining that along with your downvote and I don't think he would revenge downvote but then I could be wrong.

How about this post? Is it worth $5.38 (which is what it is as I leave this comment)? If I downvoted it (for maybe a whopping 1 cent reduction) and left a comment that said. "Nothing wrong with the post but I just don't think it is worth $5+...downvoted for disagreement with rewards." would you then start downvoting my posts for revenge? Not all people are rational of course...

The answer is yes. He would retaliate. It's a proven fact about this leech posting this dumb question.
