A Graphite Sketch

The last time I made one portrait like this (that is a lookalike of the Classical era) was a day to my sister's wedding about three years ago. She called me the day I drew this and as a result, I was able to speak with her son who happens to bear my name, Joshua. He is still little but he does a lot of critical thinking and is a keen observer and I like to see those attributes in children.

That day in particular, I made about two drawings in succession. One was of the German philosopher Friedrich Nietzsche and the other of an American diplomat from the age of Revolution. This time though my reference was comical so I yielded to its dictates.
