Hello hellooo! Muy buenas a todos. El día de hoy vengo a compartirles un fanart sobre la vtuber más grande sumado a mi sufrimiento durante su proceso de creación.
Hello hellooo! Hello everyone. Today I come to share with you a fanart about the biggest vtuber and my suffering during her creation process.
A lo largo de la pandemia ocurrida en 2020 durante el encierro en casa, me tope por youtube con una curiosa comunidad de youtubers las cuales resultaron ser lo que hoy se conoce como Vtubers, Avatares 2d controlado por personas con temáticas anime y justamente me tope con la que hoy en día es una de las empresas de vtubers más grandes del mundo, Hololive. A pesar de no entender japonés, había canales de clips que traducían algunos momentos divertidos de las miembros de la empresa.
Me entretenía mucho viendo algunos clips y de vez en cuando intentar ver algún directo en vivo. Con el pasar del tiempo poco a poco me encariñe con la comunidad y sus miembros, Hasta que un día se anunciaría el debut de las primeras Vtubers de habla inglesa por parte de Hololive, entre ellas la que contra todo pronóstico exploto en su crecimiento hasta volverse la más grande de todas, Gawr Gura. Una adorable chica tiburón.
Throughout the pandemic that occurred in 2020 during the lockdown at home, I stumbled on youtube with a curious community of youtubers which turned out to be what today is known as Vtubers, 2d Avatars controlled by people with anime themes and I just stumbled upon what today is one of the largest vtubers companies in the world, Hololive. Despite not understanding Japanese, there were channels of clips that translated some funny moments of the members of the company.
I was very entertained watching some clips and from time to time I would try to watch a live stream. With the passing of time I gradually became attached to the community and its members, until one day the debut of the first English-speaking Vtubers was announced by Hololive, among them the one that against all odds exploded in its growth to become the biggest of all, Gawr Gura. An adorable shark girl.
Bien, comencemos por el primer sketch, no tenía muy claro que quería hacer al principio, solo pensé en “hmm quiero que este sonriendo y quizás dar la impresión de que está bajo el mar”, con esa idea hice este primer boceto el cual daba inicio a todo, me tomo poco completarlo para lograr algo más decente, aunque hubo un gran problema. Mi pereza. Si, lo admito fui vago con el dibujo tarde más de lo que debería, demasiado realmente. En mi defensa diré que estoy de vacaciones y bueno, me relaje.
Well, let's start with the first sketch, I wasn't very clear about what I wanted to do at the beginning, I just thought "hmm I want him to be smiling and maybe give the impression that he is under the sea", with that idea I made this first sketch which started everything, it took me a little while to complete it to achieve something more decent, although there was a big problem. My laziness. Yes, I admit it, I was lazy with the drawing, it took me longer than it should have, too long really. In my defense, I'm on vacation and well, I relaxed.
Como podrán apreciar ya para este punto pude detallar el resto de partes, mejorar la cara, cabello, postura y bueno. Por fin parecía Gura, mire mayormente su modelo 2d como referencia. Por supuesto todavía tenía alguna que otra cosa que arreglar durante el lineart pero bueno. Me gusto como se iba formando.
As you can see by this point I was able to detail the rest of the parts, improve the face, hair, posture and well. Finally it looked like Gura, I mostly looked at her 2d model as a reference. Of course I still had some things to fix during the lineart but well. I liked how it was shaping up.
A pesar de que sufro un poco en ello, es bastante entretenido arreglar ciertas cosas durante el lineart, jugar con el grosor de las líneas con la herramienta de pressure que te permite usar Paint tool sai 2 en una capa de lineart. Como se puede apreciar gracias a dicha herramienta se logra recrear un poco el trazo a mano que se podría hacer desde una tableta grafica (cosa que espero algún día tener). Por cierto, adoro el accesorio de tiburón.
Although I suffer a little in it, it is quite entertaining to fix certain things during the lineart, playing with the thickness of the lines with the pressure tool that allows you to use Paint tool sai 2 in a lineart layer. As you can see, thanks to this tool you can recreate a little bit the hand drawing that you could do from a graphic tablet (something I hope to have someday). By the way, I love the shark accessory.
Casi me había olvidado de sacar la captura durante el coloreado base, aquí como pueden notar había escogido un tono más claro para la ropa y un tono algo más oscuro para las sombras del cabello, no estaba muy convencido así que hice unos cambios en los colores después. No soy una persona experta a la hora de pintar, así que tuve que probar diferentes tonos y ver más referencias.
I almost forgot to take the capture during the base coloring, here as you can notice I had chosen a lighter shade for the clothes and a slightly darker shade for the hair shadows, I wasn't very convinced so I made some changes in the colors afterwards. I am not an expert when it comes to painting, so I had to try different tones and see more references.
Espero que sea notorio el cambio por aquí, aparte de los colores tuve que darle algo de forma a la sombra del cabello, cosa que se me complico un poco con el mause, pero bueno. También comencé a añadir un borde oscuro dentro de la pupila ¡oh! Creo que no he mencionado que también luche haciendo las marcas azules el cabello de esta pequeña tiburona. Me costó, pero con ayuda del borrador pude lograr un resultado decente.
I hope the change is noticeable around here, apart from the colors I had to give some shape to the shadow of the hair, which was a bit complicated with the mause, but ok. I also started to add a dark border inside the pupil, oh! I don't think I mentioned that I also struggled to make the blue marks on the hair of this little shark. I struggled, but with the help of the eraser I was able to achieve a decent result.
Como se puede apreciar comencé a añadir una que otra sombra y a colocar otros detalles como los hilos amarillos que estaban en la capucha, pero que me olvide de colocar y también termine de detallar el símbolo de pescado que está justo debajo.
Pero justo aquí cuando realizaba el fondo comenzó el caos. Hasta este momento no me había dado cuenta de que, sin querer, escogí un lienzo más grande de lo que mi computador permitía. Empezaba a fallar o a ponerse lento así que, tuve que tomar la decisión de no meter más detalles al cabello para evitar que mi pc explotara. Pero todavía faltaba el sombreado que quería hacerle desde que comencé con el fondo… sombreado que pude hacer por suerte sin perder el dibujo.
As you can see I started to add some shadows and to place other details like the yellow threads that were on the hood, but that I forgot to place and I also finished detailing the fish symbol that is just below.
But just here when I was doing the background the chaos started. Until this moment I hadn't realized that I had inadvertently chosen a larger canvas than my computer would allow. It was starting to crash or get slow so, I had to make the decision not to add any more detail to the hair to prevent my pc from exploding. But there was still missing the shading that I wanted to do since I started with the background... shading that I was able to do luckily without losing the drawing.
Con este sombreado estaría todo terminado, me hubiera gustado intentar meter algún que otro detalle más o mejorar el sombreado en el cabello, pero no podía ya era tarde.
Sin más, espero que se hayan entretenido con mi anécdota, que les haya gustado mi dibujo y bueno. ¡Para los que leyeron gracias por tomarse el tiempo de ver mi sufrimiento al final! With this shading I would have liked to try to add some more details or improve the shading on the hair, but I couldn't, it was too late.
