Landschaftspark Duisburg-Nord
Hallo Hivians,
Yesterday I visited a very special place, Landschaftspark Duisburg-Nord. The weather was not that good, it raining during midday.
The Landschaftspark Duisburg-Nord is a 180 hectare landscape park around a disused iron and steel works in Duisburg, Germany. The iron and steel mill was founded in 1901 by the Thyssen group. Now it´s an extraordinary tourist site, a complete iron and steel works has transformed into an experience space that attracts around 1 million visitors per year.
Along with High Line (New York), Buttes-Chaumont (Paris), Hampstead Heath (London) and Park Güell (Barcelona), it ranks among the ten best city parks in the world. Landschaftspark offers unique insights into a past industrial epoch.
