Let's Make a Collage - A Contest for All Creatives on Hive - Round 156 - ✨127 HIVE in the Prize Pool!✨

Hi community. For the ongoing round I made a collage entitled Checkmate.
The template was inspiring, it's spacious and made the character, a warrior rabbit pawn, stand out nicely.

I put together a story too based on it, Checkmate:

"Once upon a time, in a land shrouded in fog, there lived a rabbit. But this was no ordinary rabbit, with strings poking out from under his fur. The rabbit could sense this time was going to be different, so he took the sword of his grand-grand father, that could only be yield by blood related descendants. A rusty sword at first sight.
He geared himself up and set out to the battlefield.
The fog was so thick that it was hard to see more than a few feet in front of him. Despite this, the rabbit was determined. He charged forward, brandishing his weapon with his good hand.
The battle was fierce and the rabbit fought with all his might. His injured hand hindered him, but he was quick and agile, dodging the attacks and striking back with precision. The fog swirled around them, making it harder for his crow to see the enemy moves ahead.
But he was not intimidated. And used all his senses and intelligence to outmaneuver the enemy. He could hear their footsteps, feel the gusts of wind caused by their movements, and sense their evil presence. The enemy was powerful, but the rabbit was faster. He darted and dodged, avoiding the fatal blows that was hurled at him.
The rabbit could feel his strength waning. He had been injured during the fight, and his left hand was practically useless. But he refused to give up as he could hear his ancestors' voices in his mind, urging him to keep on fighting.
Eventually, with one last desperate strike, the rabbit struck the enemy in its weak spot and emerged victoriuos.
The fog slowly lifted, and the rabbit made his way back home. His comrades hailed him as a hero, and from that day on, he was known as the one-handed rabbit warrior. He was appointed as the leader of the kingdom's army and he trained the soldiers to become fierce fighters just like him, taught them the ways of combat and the importance of courage even when all seemes lost. He lived a long and fulfilling life and when he passed away, the people of the land mourned his loss.
But the rabbit's legacy lived on. His story was passed down from generation to generation, and he was remembered as the one-handed rabbit warrior who saved the kingdom from certain doom. His sword was exhibited in the royal court, and it was said that it held magical powers that protected the kingdom from harm."

First of all, I would like to thank you for allowing us to participate in your abysmal, dark imagination. :-D
Creepy! It is indeed a surreal nightmare at its best.
Would fit perfectly into stories like Silent Hill or Hellraiser.
