Runde #209 ist in vollem Gange und schon die ersten Kunstwerke zum Contest, sind in der LMAC-Community zu bewundern.
Ich schlieĂe mich hiermit dem kreativen Treiben an. SelbstverstĂ€ndlich, jedoch nur zum SpaĂ und auĂer Konkurrenz (da ich Jury-Mitglied bin).

About my collage
It was quite early in the morning, when I was sitting on a park bench at the edge of a city park, waiting for the start of an upcoming appointment. I was a little early.
The weather was great and the usual hustle and bustle of the city was still fairly quiet. Many were still asleep, a few were already on their way to work. The city park, at least, was still deserted.
The newly risen sun shone right in my face and blinded me a little. I closed my eyes for a moment and enjoyed the rays warming my skin. After I opened them and allowed them to get comfortable with the light again, I suddenly found myself sitting in the middle of a completely different scene than I was before.
There were now people standing by some of the garbage cans in the city park. Pulling returnable bottles out of the garbage, putting them into plastic bags and walking to the next garbage can.
Shortly afterwards, others came and now fruitlessly tried to make their fortune too.
Of course, I could only catch a tiny little glimpse of the real suffering that lies beneath the surface of most people's reality.
There must be bitter hardship when you have to search for recyclables in the garbage at times when most people are still asleep.
In @shaka's template photo for round 209, we can admire Hamburg's unique Speicherstadt. This city scene reminded me of my experience from the park bench.
I usually use whatever comes to mind when I see the template as inspiration for my collage. This time was no exception.
Ăber meine Collage
Es war ein recht frĂŒher Morgen, als ich gerade am Rande eines Stadtparks auf einer Parkbank saĂ, um auf den Beginn eines anstehenden Termins zu warten. Ich war etwas zu frĂŒh dran.
Das Wetter war toll und das gewohnte Treiben in der Stadt, war recht noch ruhig. Viele schliefen noch, einige wenige waren bereits auf dem Weg zur Arbeit. Der Stadtpark, jedenfalls, war noch menschenleer.
Die frisch aufgegangene Sonne schien mir mitten ins Gesicht und blendete mich ein wenig. FĂŒr einen Moment schloss ich die Augen und genoss die WĂ€rme der Strahlen. Als ich sie wieder aufmachte und sie sich wieder an das Licht gewöhnt hatten, saĂ ich plötzlich inmitten einer völlig anderen Scene als zuvor.
An ein paar der MĂŒlltonnen des Stadtparks, standen nun Menschen. Sie zogen Pfandflaschen aus dem MĂŒll, verstauten sie ihn PlastiktĂŒten und liefen zur jeweils nĂ€chsten MĂŒlltonne.
Kurz danach kamen andere und versuchten nun erfolglos, ebenfalls ihr GlĂŒck zu machen.
Ich konnte mir hierbei, selbstverstÀndlich, nur einen winzig kleinen Blick auf das wirkliche Leiden, das unter der OberflÀche der RealitÀt der meisten Menschen liegt, erhaschen.
Es gehört definitiv eine groĂe Not dazu, im MĂŒll nach Verwertbarem zu suchen, zu Uhrzeiten, zu denen die Meisten noch Schlafen.
In @shaka's Vorlagen-Foto zu Runde 209, dĂŒrfen wir die einzigartige Hamburger Speicherstadt bewundern. Angesichts dieser Stadt-Szene, erinnerte ich mich wieder an das Erlebte auf der Parkbank.
Meist nutze ich, was mir beim Anblick der Vorlage in den Sinn kommt, als Inspiration fĂŒr meine Collage. So auch dieses Mal.

These are the materials I have made use of to create my collage. Additionally to Photo Bashing, I also painted some details myself (shadows, lights, water effects...).
For the work on the collage I only used the open source image editor GIMP.

What is LMAC?
LMAC is a great community for artists of all skill levels. The name of the community is an abbreviation and stands for "Let's make a collage".
Just take a look. Even if you think you are not an artist, LMAC will probably prove you wrong.

This is a great collage, I love how realistic they look, I still do not know how to make a scene divided by water, but you look fantastic!

I really don't know how the pros would do it either. But I just try to depict it so that it makes sense.
With this collage, I tried to make it look like a kind of aquarium glass - a clean separation.
It seemed logical to me that there must be some waves breaking on the glass, and where there are waves, there is also, at least a little, foam. Foam can be painted very well with an acrylic brush that has a bit of drawing dynamics, I've discovered.
For the turbidity effect, I simply placed a water texture over the underwater area, blurred it a little, made the dark areas more intense using color curves and then blended this layer with this area using "screen" blend mode.
Finally, I then had to cut the image into two parts - the area above the water and the area below. The underwater area then had to be given a slight wave effect.
For underwater scenes in murky water, you can always work with a lot of darkness to enhance the depth of the image. Virtually everything that is too far away from the light or the observer can be made very dark.
