Once, as a child, I used to go every year to visit my family living in Malbork and usually, when we were there, we would go for a walk around the famous Teutonic castle. Sometimes we visited it from inside. In my adult life, this castle was mainly in my memories. When I recently went to Olsztyn and found out that there is also a red brick castle in this city, with characteristic turrets, I knew that I would definitely see it and also show it to you in my post.
Kiedyś, w dzieciństwie co roku jeździłam odwiedzić rodzinę mieszkającą w Malborku i zazwyczaj, gdy tam byliśmy szliśmy na spacer w okolice słynnego zamku krzyżackiego. Czasami zwiedzaliśmy go od środka. W życiu dorosłym ten zamek gościł głównie w moich wspomnieniach. Gdy niedawno pojechałam do Olsztyna i dowiedziałam się, że w tym mieście również znajduje się zamek z czerwonej cegły, z charakterystycznymi wieżyczkami, wiedziałam, że na pewno go zobaczę, a także pokażę go wam w moim poście.

Unfortunately, I didn't find this wall with an astronomy board, but others also contained elements that caught my eye. For example, the lowest parts of the castle walls, from the ground to a height of about a meter, sometimes less, were reinforced with large stones.
Niestety nie znalazłam tej ściany z tablicą astronomiczną, ale inne też zawierały elementy, które przyciągały mój wzrok. Na przykład najniższe elementy ścian zamku, od ziemi na wysokość około metra, czasem mniej, były wzmocnione dużymi kamieniami.
This castle wall made a big impression on me. In the window you can see a colorful stained glass window, and above it an interesting roof finish with numerous small turrets and white symbols painted on the upper wall.
Ta ściana zamku zrobiła na mnie duże wrażenie. W oknie widać kolorowy witraż, a ponad nim ciekawe wykończenie dachu z licznymi małymi wieżyczkami i namalowanymi na górnej ścianie białymi symbolami.
It was difficult for me to take nice photos of the castle in its entirety, because there are numerous tall trees with lush foliage growing next to it and obscuring the castle. When I was looking for a good shot, other tourists came to my aid, who suggested that I should go a little further and I should be able to take a better photo. On the other hand, the surrounding nature adds charm to the historic building. The red castle is surrounded by beautiful, lush greenery.
Trudno mi było zrobić fajne zdjęcia zamku w całości, gdyż rosną przy nim liczne wysokie drzewa bujnie pokryte liśćmi i zasłaniają zamek. Gdy szukałam dobrego ujęcia z pomocą przyszli mi inni turyści, którzy podpowiedzieli, żeby przejść trochę dalej i powinno się udać pstryknąć lepszą fotkę. Z drugiej strony okoliczna przyroda dodaje zabytkowej budowli uroku. Czerwony zamek otoczony jest piękną, soczystą zielenią.
In the picture below you can see how big this castle is. You can see the proportions of the building to the people. When I was at the castle, I had the feeling that apart from those people who passed me, there was no one else. It had some pluses, because I could see the castle from all sides, except for the interior, and no one bothered me. There weren't a lot of other tourists taking pictures in front of the castle.
Na zdjęciu poniżej możecie zobaczyć jak wielki jest ten zamek. Widać proporcje budynku do ludzi. Gdy byłam przy zamku miałam poczucie jakby oprócz tych ludzi, którzy przeszli obok mnie, nie było nikogo innego. Miało to trochę plusów, bo mogłam sobie na spokojnie obejrzeć zamek, ze wszystkich stron, poza wnętrzem i nikt mi w tym nie przeszkadzał. Nie było mnóstwa innych turystów, którzy robiliby sobie zdjęcia na tle zamku.
On this wall of the castle, I noticed the black stones that together form a pattern of crosses against the background of red bricks.
Na tej ścianie zamku zwróciłam uwagę na czarne kamienie, które tworzą razem na tle czerwonych cegieł wzór z krzyży.
A river flows by the castle, there are also high protective walls. It can be seen that the castle was well protected in the event of an enemy invasion.
Przy zamku przepływa rzeka, są też wysokie mury ochronne. Widać, że zamek był dobrze zabezpieczony na wypadek najazdu nieprzyjaciela.
My discovery in the park near the castle was a female sculpture. It looks contemporary and gives the place charm. Now I have such an association that it would be a good idea to organize yoga on the grass, in such a place.
Moim odkryciem w parku znajdującym się przy zamku była taka kobieca rzeźba. Wygląda współcześnie i nadaje temu miejscu uroku. Przyszło mi teraz takie skojarzenie, że dobrym pomysłem byłoby zorganizowanie jogi na trawie, w takim miejscu.
These narrow, high windows, the upper part of which resembles an arch, look interesting.
Ciekawie wyglądają te wąskie, wysokie okna, których górna część przypomina łuk.
The surroundings of the castle are a great place for romantic meetings. When I was walking there, I saw several couples sitting on benches and talking to each other.
Okolice zamku są doskonałym miejscem do romantycznych spotkań. Gdy tam spacerowałam widziałam kilka par siedzących na ławeczkach i rozmawiających ze sobą.
This is a monument to the famous astronomer Nicolaus Copernicus. The concept of this monument is cool. The scholar sits on a wall - brick at the bottom, marble at the top, and looks towards the castle. In his hands he holds a roll of paper and a ball surrounded by stripes. If you want, you can sit next to Copernicus and take a picture with him.
To pomnik słynnego astronoma Mikołaja Kopernika. Fajna jest koncepcja tego pomnika. Uczony siedzi na murku - z dołu ceglanym, z góry marmurowym i patrzy w stronę zamku. Trzyma w rękach rulon papieru i jakąś kulę otoczoną pasami. W sumie jeśli się chce można usiąść obok Kopernika i zrobić sobie z nim zdjęcie.

Wow! a castle with many years of history and its important guest Copernicus, it is interesting to know these buildings that date back several centuries and still retain their splendor; the environment is charming and relaxing, a nice adventure to visit this amazing castle.
