Warung Bu Deden Architechture

Hi Architecture+Design buddies...

When we travel to someone else's country and enjoy the typical food of that country, we absolutely will miss enjoying the typical food of our own country. That's what we felt when traveling to several cities in Türkiye. Incidentally, in Turkey, their main food is not rice but bread, so at that time we really missed eating rice. At the end of the trip, our tour guide gave us a gift, namely a visit to an Indonesian restaurant.

The restaurant named Warung Bu Deden. The Indonesian living in Turkey.

Warung Bu Deden is located in the city of Istanbul on the European continent, precisely near the Blue Mosque. If you take a walk to the Blue Mosque area, you probably won't find this stall, because Warung Bu Deden is an underground stall. As you know, some roads in Istanbul are uneven or uphill and downhill.

All the furniture at Warung Bu Deden Restaurant is made of dark brown wood. This color makes me feel like I'm in a restaurant in Central Java, the atmosphere is so typical.

On one of the walls of the restaurant there are two works of art. The one on the left is a portrait of one of wayang, a traditional Indonesian game, while the one on the right is a painting of Arjuna, one of the wayang characters. On the far right there is a painting of Petruk, another character in wayang. In other side, there is a wall art work depicting Borobudur temple, an iconic temple in Central Java. Along with that, there are typical Balinese umbrellas there. However, I think they should add some ornaments to make this restaurant look more authentic.

Unfortunately, they were arranged only for group, there are no small tables for two person or one person customers.

The architecture of this restaurant does look simple, but the atmosphere they gave us, who had not been in Indonesia for a week, made us no longer homesick.

If you are at Istanbul, Turkey, please visit Warung Bu Deden Restaurant once then you can feel the atmosphere.

Even though it's winter, the food at Warung Bu Deden has dishes that are so delicious that it will make anyone who enjoys them feel warm. The only drawback of this restaurant is that its location is underground, making it difficult for customers to find it.

What do you think?

Vivie Hardika

Hi, Halo, Annyeong! Welcome to my galaxy.

I have so much imagination in my head. Something that I can't achieve as a human and as a girl. So writing is very challenging. Since Junior High School, I have written whatever I want to write. Without skill, I just write what I want to read. Now I have 12th published novels and all of them are romance.
Yeah, I proudly say that I am a passionate author, traveler wannabe, and blogger.

Sort:

Why look for Indonesian food when you're in Türkiye? but the architecture look so great and expensive.

Cause in Turkey we can't found rice 🤣

Greetings @viviehardika, the decor of the restaurant is beautiful, the colors I love and the layout of the tables, the place looks cozy. 🌺🌸🌻
