My Entry for the Reflection Hunters Contest - Round 167 [ENG/ESP]

Reflection Hunters Contest Round 167

During the past Holy Week and within the religious activities of these dates, I was touring some downtown churches on Good Friday, fulfilling a centuries-old tradition known as "Tour of the 7 Temples", which enjoys great popularity in Spain, Portugal and many Latin American countries, and in this case, Venezuela is no exception.

Even though I didn't get to visit the 7 temples that day, this activity allowed me to walk through part of the historic urban center and take a lot of pictures, both of the parishioners inside and outside the churches, as well as of some places and buildings of historical or architectural value located in that sector, and that normally at other times of the year I don't usually visit.

This pair of photographs that I share this week as my participation in the Reflections Hunters Contest in its 167th edition, correspond to the Minor Basilica of Holy Christ of Grace, better known as "El Cristo" (The Christ), a catholic temple of gothic style, and as you can see in the images, on the floor of the central aisle are reflected the 5 stained glass windows located on top of the altar.

As I have described in previous posts, I process the original photographs using the editing tools offered in their free versions by the applications Picsart and Snapseed.

Durante la pasada Semana Santa y dentro de las actividades religiosas propias de estas fechas, estuve recorriendo algunas iglesias del centro de la ciudad el día Viernes Santo, cumpliendo con una tradición centenaria conocida como "Recorrido de los 7 Templos", la cual goza de gran popularidad en muchos de los países iberoamericanos, y en este caso, Venezuela no es la excepción.

Aún cuando ese día no alcancé a visitar los 7 templos, de igual manera, esta actividad me permitió recorrer a pié parte del casco histórico urbano y tomar una abundante cantidad de fotografías, tanto de los feligreses dentro y fuera de las iglesias, así como de algunos lugares y edificaciones de valor histórico o arquitectónico ubicados en ese sector, y que normalmente en otras fechas del año no suelo visitar.

Este par de fotografías que esta semana comparto como mi participación en el Concurso Reflections Hunters en su edición 167, corresponden a la Basílica Menor Santo Cristo de la Gracia, mejor conocida como "El Cristo", un templo católico de estilo gótico, y como bien pueden observar en las imágenes, en el piso del pasillo central se reflejan los 5 vitrales ubicados en la parte superior del altar.

Como he descrito en posts anteriores, las fotografías originales las proceso haciendo uso de las herramientas de edición que ofrecen en sus versiones gratuitas las aplicaciones Picsart y Snapseed.
