Today I'm going to talk to you about the DnD book "Sigil and the Outlands", which is part of the "Planescape" set. The book is intended for high-level adventures, but unfortunately it is not fully equipped in every aspect. So it's not a pick it up and let it inspire you. That's why in this review we will do an in-depth review, sometimes with 'negative' words.

First of all, one of the most striking aspects of the book is definitely the markets, where good and evil coexist in equal strength and balance. It's really interesting that there are different kinds of creatures together and they can't attack anyone. This brings to mind a bazaar where all kinds of beings meet, like a ground zero. However, I'm disappointed about the unaffectable power of the book's goddess, the Lady of Pain. I would have liked to see her as a more interactive character. I'm really upset by this nonsense of "if your players even look at her, she's gone". I mean, if instead he actually talked about how there are events that affect the world in a profound way, like what "Vecna" did to the old stories, and that the players can have a chance to destroy this goddess... then it would have been great.

The book provides general information about the structure of the city of "Sigil" and its inhabitants, but this information is insufficient. You should definitely look for older editions, especially those containing the "Sigil" adventures. The book alone is not a "pick and play" and it would be better to buy the complete Planescape set. I would even say that you have to. This is just a setting book. I haven't reviewed the other Planescape books separately yet, but I will, this book gives general information about the structure of the city of "Sigil" and its inhabitants. That's all.
I would like to give you what happens in the book and not give spoilers, but I can summarize: The life in Sigil, the people who live there, and the people who are gathered around the portals that open to different dimensions in the lands we call outlands. And that's about it. Believe me, the book is a disappointment. I am saddened.

Finally, this book and the Planescape set in general are designed for experienced Dungeon Masters (DMs). It is very difficult for a beginner DM to pick up this book and run an adventure right away. Even the set itself may not be enough, you will have to go through older editions and use additional resources besides the adventure in the set. So, it seems like an ideal option for DMs who like to research and have a high level of experience. So that means it's a money trap. I'm sorry...

To be honest I have never read Sigil and Outlans, but by your review I think I can feel what you feel about this book. Thanks for sharing, will looking for this book in international bookshop. I will let you know If I found it!

La verdad que no estoy muy en tema, pero si a ti te no te gusto sumado a todas las cosas que mencionas es porque es malo y ojalaalguien pueda leerlo antes de cometer el error de comprarlo o al menos si lo compra que sea conciente de lo que le espera jajaja
