Después de aventurarme a terminar con la hermosa saga de ACOTAR: Una corte de rosas y espinas, no perdà el tiempo y el mismo dÃa, como suelo hacer siempre, empecé a leer la saga Trono de Cristal, de la misma escritora, la talentosa Sarah J. Mass. Y debo decirles que, ya la terminé de leer, hace par de dÃas y también terminé de leer la trilogÃa "Ciudad Medialuna" (tengo aproximadamente 2 horas de haberla terminado jaja), también de la misa escritora. Asà que, paso a paso, vengo muy emocionada a contarles mis opiniones sobre el primer libro que lleva el nombre de la misma saga, Trono de Cristal.
After venturing to finish the beautiful saga of ACOTAR: A Court of Roses and Thorns, I wasted no time and the same day, as I always do, I started reading the Throne of Glass saga, by the same writer, the talented Sarah J. Mass. And I must tell you, I finished reading it, a couple of days ago and I also finished reading the trilogy "Ciudad Medialuna" (I have about 2 hours of having finished it haha), also by the same writer. So, step by step, I come very excited to tell you my opinions about the first book named after the same saga, Throne of Glass.
Iniciamos con lo que es la presentación de nuestra espectacular protagonista, Celaena Sardothien. Una mujer que estaba presa, por asà decirlo, en unas minas de sal en un sector llamado Endovier. La historia inicia con un guardia escoltando a Celaena, para llevarla ante el prÃncipe del reino de Adarlan, Dorian Havillard. El cual explica que está frente a ella para reclutarla y llevarla hacia el castillo real, para que participe en una competencia junto con otros 23 jugadores (asesinos, ladrones, etc). Organizada por su padre, el rey de Adarlan, para escoger un campeón del rey y que le sirva durante varios años para después ser libre, el objetivo de este campeón del rey es básicamente actuar como un asesino Personal de la corona. Ella acepta para ser libre por fin, prometiendo que va a ganar la competencia, asà que todos se van hacia el castillo, junto con el capitán de la guardia real, Chaol Westfall. Algo que me encanta de ella y es que desde el principio siempre se ha presentado como una persona muy sarcástica y divertida, se supone que ella es la asesina más popular de Adarlan y es por eso que habÃan capturado encerrado en esta prisión de Endovier. Cuando llegan al castillo, nadie debe saber que esa asesina tan famosa está suelta, asà que le dan otro nombre y una "posición social" el cual es Lilian Gordania. Ella en secreto debe practicar y entrenar junto a Chaol, para poder este ganar.
We begin with the presentation of our spectacular protagonist, Celaena Sardothien. A woman who was imprisoned, so to speak, in some salt mines in a sector called Endovier. The story begins with a guard escorting Celaena, to take her to the prince of the kingdom of Adarlan, Dorian Havillard. He explains that he is in front of her to recruit her and take her to the royal castle to participate in a competition with 23 other players (assassins, thieves, etc.). Organized by her father, the king of Adarlan, to choose a king's champion to serve him for several years and then be free, the goal of this king's champion is basically to act as a personal assassin for the crown. She agrees to be free at last, promising to win the competition, so they all leave for the castle, along with the captain of the royal guard, Chaol Westfall. Something I love about her and that is that from the beginning she has always presented herself as a very sarcastic and funny person, she is supposed to be the most popular assassin of Adarlan and that's why they had captured locked in this Endovier prison. When they arrive at the castle, no one must know that such a famous assassin is on the loose, so they give her another name and a "social position" which is Lilian Gordania. She must secretly practice and train with Chaol in order to win.
Resulta que mientras estaba en el castillo de cristal tratando de ser alguien más ella conoce a una chica, una princesa llamada Nehemia Ygter, y se hacen amigas con el pasar de tiempo. También se vuelve amiga de Dorian, con el que tiene un breve enamoramiento. Pero, no conforme con lo que tenÃa que hacer para cumplir con sus deberes, Celaena también descubre en su habitación hacia una cámara secreta, unos túneles que llevan una cámara secreta y se encuentra con el espÃritu de Elena Galathynius Havillard, la primera reina de Adarlan. Elena la protege y le dice que debe destruir el mal que habita en el castillo. Desde mi punto de vista me gustaba muchÃsimo la conexión que tenÃa Celaena con Dorian, desde el primer momento. Y algo importantÃsimo resaltar es que en este mundo la magia existe, hay hadas, metamorfos, sanadores y un poco más, pero en Adarlan está prohibida la magia, nadie puede hacerla. Pero eso no fue impedimento para que alguien estuviera invocando un demonio para matar uno por uno a participantes de la competencia.
It turns out that while in the crystal castle trying to be someone else she meets a girl, a princess named Nehemia Ygter, and they become friends over time. She also becomes friends with Dorian, with whom she has a brief crush. But, not content with what she had to do to fulfill her duties, Celaena also discovers in her room to a secret chamber, tunnels leading to a secret chamber and meets the spirit of Elena Galathynius Havillard, the first queen of Adarlan. Elena protects her and tells her that she must destroy the evil that dwells in the castle. From my point of view I really liked the connection that Celaena had with Dorian, from the first moment. And something very important to highlight is that in this world magic exists, there are fairies, shapeshifters, healers and a little more, but in Adarlan magic is forbidden, no one can do it. But that was not an impediment for someone to invoke a demon to kill one by one the participants of the competition.
Pero ella trata de seguir adelante, mientras descubre que un participante llamado CaÃn estaba haciendo invocaciones y justo al final de la competencia ella debe enfrentarse. A Celaena la envenenan y casi que la matan en la pelea, pero una marca se aparece en su frente que nadie sabÃa que era en su momento, se revela luego que la marca significaba "él sin nombre", pero eso es lo que les contaré más adelante. A duras penas, ella logra ganar la competencia, con ayuda de Nehemia, y es nombrada la campeona del rey. Aunque el rey de Adarlan la odia un poco pero tuvo que aceptar lo evidente. Justo al final de este primer libro es cuando ella decide dar un paso alto a Dorian y quedan como amigos. También Elena la reina anteriormente vuelve a visitarla y le sigue exigiendo que derrote el mal que hay en El Castillo, ya que aún no ha terminado. Y de nuevo, aunque todo se ve algo tranquilo, el rey de Adarlan le informa que si no cumple con sus deberes, él va a matar a personas preciadas para ella, asà un poco sintiendo que vendió su alma ella firma el contrato y queda coronada como la campeona del rey trabajando junto con el capitán Westfall.
But she tries to move on, while discovering that a participant named Cain was doing summoning and right at the end of the competition she must face. Celaena is poisoned and almost killed in the fight, but a mark appears on her forehead that no one knew what it was at the time, it is later revealed that the mark meant "he with no name", but that is what I will tell you later. She barely manages to win the competition, with Nehemia's help, and is named the king's champion. Although the king of Adarlan hates her a bit but he had to accept the obvious. Right at the end of this first book is when she decides to give Dorian a pass and they remain friends. Also Elena the queen previously revisits her and keeps demanding her to defeat the evil that is in The Castle, as it's not over yet. And again, although everything looks somewhat calm, the king of Adarlan informs her that if she does not fulfill her duties, he will kill people precious to her, so a little feeling that she sold her soul she signs the contract and is crowned as the king's champion working together with Captain Westfall.
Debo mencionarles que a mà este primer libro Me encantó demasiado, conecte bastante con Celaena, me gustó demasiado el personaje de Dorian y en secreto yo querÃa que ellos terminaran juntos, pero ya veremos que más adelante. Algo a acotar es que al inicio, nadie nos decÃa que habÃa sido de la vida de Celaena, lo único que habÃamos era que era la asesina más famosa, aunque nadie conociera su cara, de todo el reino de Adarlan. Que no tiene familia y que fue criada desde los ocho años por el rey de los asesinos a Arrobyn Hamel. Incluso pensé que podÃa encontrarme con un personaje femenino bastante ruda y frÃa, pero la verdad todo lo contrario. No quiero decir que ella sea una persona súper cariñosa, pero pensé que iba a encontrar alguien super horrible que podrÃa llegar a odiar como pasó con Nesta Archeron en ACOTAR. Pero no me malentiendan, eso no quiere decir que no se sea muy ruda a la hora de cometer los asesinatos o las peleas, ella se pone una máscara y su cuerpo actúa por puro instinto, es demasiado letal. Y para finalizar, me encantó todo y debo decirlo nuevamente, siento que contrario a lo que habÃa leÃdo antes este libro tiene un poquito más de acción y eso me atrapó muchÃsimo, es netamente un género de fantasÃa aventura y un poquito de romance que nunca puede faltar, si quieren empezar a leerlo, solo con esta recomendación del primer libro, les aseguro que los van a amar todos tanto como lo hice yo. I must mention that I loved this first book too much, I connected with Celaena, I liked Dorian's character too much and I secretly wanted them to end up together, but we'll see what happens next. Something to note is that at the beginning, no one told us what had become of Celaena's life, the only thing we had was that she was the most famous assassin, although no one knew her face, in the whole kingdom of Adarlan. That she has no family and that she was raised from the age of eight by the king of the assassins Arrobyn Hamel. I even thought that I could find a female character quite rough and cold, but the truth is quite the opposite. I don't want to say that she is a super caring person, but I thought I was going to find someone super horrible that I could come to hate as it happened with Nesta Archeron in ACOTAR. But don't get me wrong, that's not to say she isn't badass when it comes to committing the murders or fights, she puts on a mask and her body acts on pure instinct, she's too lethal. And to finish, I loved everything and I must say it again, I feel that contrary to what I had read before this book has a little more action and that caught me a lot, it is purely a fantasy adventure genre and a little bit of romance that can never miss, if you want to start reading it, just with this recommendation of the first book, I assure you that you will love them all as much as I did.
