As someone who lives far from urban areas, I always use the vegetables that grow around my yard. This time I will show you a simple recipe for vegetables similar to eggplant. Namely the cempokak (Solanum nigrum) vegetable, Meanwhile, in our regional language it is known as trueng cawing, this vegetable grows wild in a barren area close to my house. It has a small round shape and grows in clusters.
Apart from that, cempokak has good benefits for eye health because it contains vitamin A. Many people around me just eat this vegetable directly because of their health. In contrast to this, I will process these vegetables by cooking them using the additional ingredient tempeh. The combination of the two is quite complex on my serving plate. Come on, read the recipe!
Ingredients
1 tempeh board
3 green chilies
1 red chili
2 cloves of garlic
¼ onion
1 tomato
Cooking Procedure
Prepare the cempokak from the stem, clean it until it is clean then wash it several times until it is clean.
Then put the cempokak in plastic, mash the cempokak so that it cooks evenly. So, if you don't want it mashed, you can just cook it straight away.
After mashing it, clean it again, wash it twice and rinse twice.
Cut the tempeh into small pieces according to taste according to the size of the cempokak, then marinate briefly with salt.
Fry the tempeh until cooked until it changes color to golden brown.
Cut the onions and tomatoes according to your taste.
Also chop the chilies and garlic, now all the ingredients are ready to be cooked.
Saute the onions and garlic, with a little cooking oil. Then saute until fragrant and brownish yellow.
Add chopped tomatoes and chilies then add enough water.
Cook briefly then add the cooked cempokak and stir the cempokak until soft.
Add salt, then add tempeh and cook until everything is cooked perfectly!
Results
Serve the cempokak with the tempeh combination on a serving plate. Try enjoying it with warm white rice as it is a delicious combination as lunch begins. The savory, spicy, slightly salty taste is very delicious and this is the characteristic taste of Asian dishes from my region. We usually enjoy dishes like this when we eat together at home.
For those of you who are used to eating rice, try this dish as a side dish at home. Easy and simple with vegetables that are very tasty and rich in benefits for the body.

Thank you very much @plantpoweronhive !
I like cempokak but the taste is sometimes too bitter, so I like to add it to some vegetables and in small quantities
You are right that sometimes this vegetable is bitter, that's why I often make it by pounding the cempokak first and washing it several times so that the bitterness disappears.
