Bem-vindos a mais uma publicação na Comunidade Street Art!
Hoje quero aqui partilhar um trabalho muito original, quer na forma como o artista o projectou, quer na própria abordagem ao tema. Estando localizado na Quinta do Mocho, um local onde praticamente toda a população daquele bairro é constituída por emigrantes ou 2ª geração de emigrantes, e principalmente dos PALOPS - Países Africanos de Língua Oficial Portuguesa, este tema é particularmente "sensível". O tema abordado pelo artista é a descolonização e a resiliência. Muitos de nós sabe que houve um processo de descolonização após o 25 de Abril, e à medida que os países foram ganhando a sua independência, mas os laços que se estabeleceram, para o bem e para o mal (que é impossível que as relações sejam benéficas a 100% para os dois lados), muitas vidas foram mudadas... Ainda hoje, na nossa sociedade é um tema muito sensível, e não podemos cair na tentação de o minimizar, ou de ter apenas uma resposta às questões que surgem. O debate é importante, mas contextualização também o é. Não se pode avaliar factos históricos e decisões politicas que foram tomadas há mais de meio século, à luz do conhecimento e da democracia que hoje temos.
O artista, de seu nome Michele, é mundialmente reconhecido por Cena7! Artista de São Paulo, Brasil, com 35 anos, desde muito novo foi apreciador da arte de rua. Aos 15 anos, começou a dar as suas primeiras pinceladas e a pintar as paredes que ia deixado e conquistando. Dono de uma originalidade, criador de uma linguagem multidimensional, que aparentemente transcende apenas uma leitura superficial. Tem gosto em apresentar material para ser interpretado por todos.
Assina normalmente pela crew POVO (Pessoas Organizadas Vencem Opressão), e é apaixonado por lugares em que o olhar normalmente abandona.
A beleza é algo que o artista considera relativo, quer para o artista, quer para quem aprecia a sua obra. Tudo está relacionado com as experiências que cada um viveu, e as que marcou e que carrega consigo.
A disrupção da linguagem normativa é uma das suas linhas condutoras.
E vocês? Também consideram que esta obra é um pouco enigmática? Apesar dos elementos bem identificativos, há alguns que deixam muito a interpretar... quer das caravelas, até às casas, ou aos seres semi-deuses que preenchem grande parte da obra.

Today I want to share with you a very original piece of work, both in the way the artist designed it and in his approach to the subject. Being located in Quinta do Mocho, a place where practically the entire population of that neighborhood is made up of emigrants or 2nd generation emigrants, and mainly from the PALOPS - Portuguese-speaking African countries, this theme is particularly "sensitive". The theme addressed by the artist is decolonization and resilience. Many of us know that there was a process of decolonization after the 25th of April, and as countries gained their independence, but the ties that were established, for better or for worse (it's impossible for relations to be 100% beneficial for both sides), many lives were changed... Even today, it's a very sensitive topic in our society, and we can't fall into the temptation of minimizing it, or of having just one answer to the questions that arise. Debate is important, but so is contextualization. You can't evaluate historical facts and political decisions that were made more than half a century ago in the light of the knowledge and democracy we have today.
The artist, named Michele, is recognized worldwide by Cena7! A 35-year-old artist from São Paulo, Brazil, he enjoyed street art from an early age. At the age of 15, he began to make his first brushstrokes and paint the walls he left behind and conquered. An original artist, he creates a multidimensional language, which apparently transcends only a superficial reading. He likes to present material that can be interpreted by everyone.
He usually signs for the crew POVO (People Organized Overcome Oppression), and is passionate about places where the eye usually leaves off.
Beauty is something the artist considers relative, both for the artist and for those who appreciate his work. Everything is related to the experiences that each person has lived through, and those that have marked them and that they carry with them.
The disruption of normative language is one of his guiding principles.
What about you? Do you also find this work a little enigmatic? Despite the very identifiable elements, there are some that leave a lot to be interpreted... from the caravels, to the houses, or the demi-god beings that fill a large part of the work.
I confess that when I first read the book, I was a little confused by the theme, but I quickly understood it
The overly stylized characters are almost reminiscent of a play, don't you agree?
Natural elements, from flora to the ocean, are portrayed here and integrated into this piece
Here the people, represented as if wearing a mask, don't let their true fears be seen by those who colonized them
A character that time has erased from this mural... an enigmatic result, don't you think? It could even be considered deliberate, but we know better, because we can see the paint peeling off
The greatest asset of all... the right to a home. Protection, home, rest and refuge
Religion has always played a preponderant role in the conquests that have been made, and it also had an enormous influence in replacing the beliefs of each people with the then almost obligatory Christianity
