The overall sentiment of the crypto market still seems really bullish. Even though Blackrock's Bitcoin ETF application was rejected, it still seems like just a formality as they made another reapplication. The consensus seems to be a sooner rather than later for this ground breaking milestone to be achieved. 📈🚀 As I mentioned last week, July is also historically a strong month for crypto. I'd say that prediction has been holding true so far. It has been an overall net gain amongst most major currencies in the past week so far.
On the Splinterlands dev side of the game, after 3 weeks of nothing much happening, we've suddenly been hit with what is probably the largest and most significant change to the game thus far! Since a few days ago, the entire concept of Collection Power has been thrown aside! Say goodbye to CP and hello to Staked SPS! 😜
But before I go into detail...
A brief introduction before I start though...
Good Day to all Splinterlands players! (and people of HIVE! 😜) I've made it a point to blog about my weekly progress and experiences in Splinterlands/HIVE in my "weekly diary". Splinterlands & HIVE are what I'd consider to be my entry point into the World of Crypto, and I intend to use this as a means to look back on the path I've taken in the years ahead.⏳⏳⏳
This is now the 85th consecutive week writing in my Diary (of sorts) detailing my Splinterlands Journey ever since I started this game. I talk about what has gone on my personal Splinterlands playing experience, my weekly Guild Brawl Reports, and also any Splinterlands ingame news. 🎉🥳🎊
No week goes by in Splinterlands without some news event happening though. And here's my pick of some of the most interesting ones in my opinion. 📰📰📰

The change to SPS Staking instead of collection power has been absolutely brutal! My main account has seen a almost 40% drop in points and SPS gained while my alt has fared even worse.
Based on the table of numbers put out by some people who've "mathed" it out, I will need roughly 11k SPS for each of my accounts playing in Silver 1 League bracket. My alt is facing a shortfall of more than 9k SPS while my main is barely doing better with a shortfall of early 6k SPS. It looks like I'll have a long way to go before I reach my goals.
If it's any consolation, I do believe most players are in the same predicament as I am. I still haven't tried to rent SPS from the new market and that is something I will look into very soon. I'll just have to adapt and make the best out of a bad situation. 😭
My quest for more Gold Foil Legendary cards from my rewards chests continues on ("Greed is Good!" 😈). It's a 0.008% chance, at base level, to pull a legendary gold foil, in case you were wondering 😉. Here's to more jackpot strikes in the future (i hope) 🤞🏻🍀🤞🏻🍀🤞🏻🍀.
I have not managed to get any new Nightmare packs to replace all those I've sold. I will wait patiently to get them at the price I want. 🤑
⚔️🛡️Weekly Guild Brawls Report⚔️🛡️
With the end of the week comes my latest Splinterlands Guild Brawl Report for "PIZZA 2 The Deep Dish" too. 🍕⚔️🛡️
There isn't anything of note to speak of in my Gladius Case openings, so I'll leave it at that. Hopefully something better will pop up after I accumulate enough for another one.
🤞🏻🍀🤞🏻🍀🤞🏻🍀 Fingers crossed for a Gold Foil (Legendary!!!) I hope 🤣🤑 for my future Gladius packs. (or any packs/rewards chest for that matter 😉)
My main regularly picks up the ✨🏅✨Gold Foil Chaos Legion Only Fray no.12✨🏅✨ while my alt takes up the ✨🏅✨Wild Novice League Fray no. 2✨🏅✨ every week.
Both accounts have once again performed really well this week with the main and alt registering a 3-0 and 4-1 score.
PIZZA 2 Guild managed to finish in 3rd place! 🏆🏆🏆
It seems like the guild has finally managed to fill up all those empty slots. Even though it is thanks to quite a few of our alts, this extra bit has helped immensely in us being able to hit the podium regularly once again. This shows pure numbers are really important in Guild Brawls. Even if our alts (and there are 3 of them) are really low levelled and have the most basic of decks, it still results in a significant improvement in our guild standing.
Great Job from everyone who took part in the Guild Brawls! I'm proud of you all! 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
On a sidenote, we've still got some unfilled frays too so...

🏆💰🎁Splinterlands News🏆💰🎁
Well, the long awaited Staking SPS changes have finally arrived! Even though the Splinterlands team has always said this was coming soon in this quarter, I think the suddenness of the announcement and implementation still surprised a lot of people.
The above picture now shows what happens when you go to the staking SPS screen. In place of the old one, the new SPS staking screen now shows you how much your amount of SPS staked boosts your reward multiplier.
Do not be too happy if you see a multiplier larger than 1 though. Just for your information, even with 0 SPS staked, the baseline is a multiplier of 1.0X. In fact, the previous rewards system had us already elevated to a 10x multiplier! 😱 Which means to say, anything short of the "recommended" SPS level at "100%" effectively sees your new rewards reduced.
For anyone who is curious at the numbers involved, I've attached a table below which I found somewhere floating around in the Splinterlands Mavericks Discord channel. I hope that is useful to anyone who inspects it closely.
One thing's for sure. Everyone definitely needs to get more SPS now! 😜🤣
