Last journey, Aloy had to go around doing some errands, helping out both sides of the east, and the western frontier. Some bozo thinking he's in charge of Chainscrape, so an investigation into matters finally convinced the town to kick him out.
Among other things, I got around collecting resources, including rare materials, and finding different type of machines. The game has opened up a bit from the side errands that I've been doing. But now, it was time to change course to the important job, and that was in Plainsong. Somewhere where the denizens worship the machines.
Aloy also gets to progress into her story further, helping her find out the source of the unrest, attacks coming for Plainsong, and in some way, getting to where needed to go in order to fix the planet dying, and find out who Far Zenith is, and how they're still alive?
Nothing much to see here, just a Plowhorn minding his business, plowing the ground.
A council meeting taking place with the Plainsong officials, about them leaving their city in order to evacuate and escape the plague, as well as the machines attacking.
And as foretold, the machines finally did attack. The people are defending themselves on the outskirts, while they arrive in large numbers, attacking anybody they see. It was a pretty brutal battle, not many died, but the sheer scale of the attack was a lot to deal with.
Threw a javelin at a Clawstrider. These things are hard to take down, not one electrical trap did it. They need serious damage from weapons with high firepower. Which I don't have.
We found a facility, after following where the machines are coming from. Somewhere leading us to a facility where all them somehow are going rogue, and aggressive towards anything.
WEEEEEE, yeah, this looks cool. I got nothing much to add. Also, there's Zo and Varl.
Arriving in the facility with Zo and Varl, all 3 of us look around, and to see the machinations inside, we find out in various ways that this is one of the manufacturing plants. But instead of GAIA, it is being run by MINERVA, who is acting against protocol.
In the distance, we spot a Plowhorn being assembled, and prepared to launch. But things seem off here, so it was time for Aloy to head down and investigate. This place is pretty scary, like it looks fascinating from a distance, but the vicissitudes and detailing in between seemingly makes it look pretty scary. Reminds me of Crysis.
As suspected, the Plowhorn was ready to attack. Aloy charges in, but we have Scroungers, Leaplashers, and Clawstriders joining the fight. I lost a lot of munition in this fight.
We survived, and managed to get inside the facility. Though, parts of its are locked from access, and it seems only way to move forward was to go inside the elevator door, climb through the outside hatch, and get in the upper floor. Where MINERVA is.
So, yeah from the sunny gardens of Plainsongs, to the cold mountains elsewhere.
MINERVA relented, and allowed Aloy full access after some convincing, she seemed pretty scared about being erased from existence, but her pain is what made her finally give up.
GAIA in the flesh, her backup finally restored and Aloy got her objective. All was clear, and it was also discussed about Aloy's depression and feeling that she isn't living upto Elisabeth's standards. All is good now that she knows where and how to fix this problem.
