The three components of music, dance and art serves as a dynamic feature that is presently shaping Nigerian cultural identity worldwide. The diversity in Nigerian ethnic groups is a major contribution to the different traditional and contemporary methods which is shaping the cultural identity of the nation at large. These three components mentioned above act as a means to an end, it is not just seen as a form of expression of the traditional ways in which Nigerians dances, produce music or explorenatural habitats but rather it is a means of exploring our traditions via storytelling, social embrace, poetry, drama, literature and so on.

These components have been beneficial in exploring the indepth traditional and cultural values and beliefs of people in the country, hence, it is not a mere form of entertainment but one that reflects the country's diverse historical narratives which includes slavery, immigration, colonization, civilization and so on. It also has to do with the different forms and methods of dancing that has evolved over the years ranging from different traditional dancing steps that are unique to each tribes in the country, we can account for the Atilogu dance, bata dance, koroso and so on. While these were traditional dance that were used to basically represent a particular tribe or ethnic group in Nigeria this type of dance transitioned into what we have as our modern and contemporary dance that were used to describe a particular kind of music for instance we have Alanta, azonto, etigi, shoki, yahooze etc.

Music, has in many ways shaped the Nigerian cultural identity by taking it above the ground level to explore international and global scenaries. In this modern world, Nigerians have grown so well to produce music that are deeply connected to both the African tradition and a mixture of international forms of music. Nigerian music are basically known as the afrobeats simply put African beats. Most of our musics are used to relate stories and experiences we encounter in our everyday lives. we have great musicians who have used their music to touch the areas of politics, immigration, segregation, racism, social political movements, social injustice, corruption, greediness are many more.

Also, the aspect of art has seen many Nigerians portraying the African culture in different forms like literature, poetry, artworks and so on. In the area of literature, authors like wole soyinka, chimamanda Adiche, ola Rotimi, Buchi Emecheta, Chinua Achebe, have used their works to tell stories that reflect culture. Some things in the novels of this authors represents the themes of love, colonization, civilization, gender roles, feminism, motherhood and identity.

In no particular order, this three components of dance art and music have placed Nigeria on the map worldwide and it has given us a platform
