Hola amigos || Hello friends
Estoy un poco contento de volver al mar a trabajar y es que, como ya he mencionado anteriormente, tengo un oficio fuera de Hive que no es tan puntual, ya que depende de las necesidades de los barcos y sus dueños. Empecé en diciembre del año pasado con la restauración de un barco de pesca. Era mi primera oportunidad en este tipo de trabajo y por supuesto mi primera experiencia. No ha sido fácil para mí encajar en este nuevo mundo dado que nunca en mi vida me imaginaba realizar este tipo de actividad, pero me he propuesto aprender y he ido poco a poco he ido poniéndome al día con dicha tecnología.
I'm a bit glad to be back at sea to work, and as I mentioned before, I have a trade outside of Hive that is not so ad hoc, as it depends on the needs of the boats and their owners. I started in December last year with the restoration of a fishing boat. It was my first opportunity in this type of work and of course my first experience. It has not been easy for me to fit into this new world since I never in my life imagined doing this kind of activity, but I have been determined to learn and I have been gradually getting up to date with such technology.
Nos encargamos de que los equipos de navegación del barco siempre estén a tono para su campaña pesquera sea mucho más llevadera. Hablo de la sonda, de un satélite compa, del plotter, entre otros. Componentes que son de suma importancia para cualquier embarcación. Por supuesto, estos equipos pueden varias dependiendo del uso que le demos a la embarcación. Por ejemplo, una lancha personal no necesita tanta cantidad de equipos. Sin embargo, para la pesca es necesario hasta tener en cuenta la temperatura del mar.
We make sure that the boat's navigation equipment is always in tune for your fishing campaign to be much more bearable. I'm talking about the depth sounder, a compa satellite, the plotter, among others. Components that are of utmost importance for any boat. Of course, this equipment can vary depending on the use we give to the boat. For example, a personal watercraft does not need so much equipment. However, for fishing it is even necessary to take into account the sea temperature.
Hace unos días tuvimos un nuevo llamado de trabajo y es en una nueva restauración de un barco llamado kimberly. Estamos en estos momentos desmontando todo lo que no usaremos, ya que algunos de los equipos se encuentran fuera de las nuevas actualizaciones y a lo mejor dirán esto es solo cambiar equipo listo. No, es un proceso un poco más largo dado que las dimensiones de algunos barcos para el cableado son bastante angostas y eso en ocasiones nos complica la extracción de la cablería vieja que normalmente debe ser cambiada. Pero en fin, tampoco vengo a contarles todo sobre la instalación de equipos marinos en un barco de pesca. Vengo a compartir algunos momentos y capturas que me parecieron interesantes.
A few days ago we had a new call for work and it is on a new restoration of a boat called kimberly. We are currently dismantling everything that we will not use, as some of the equipment is out of the new upgrades and you might say this is just changing ready equipment. No, it's a bit of a longer process as the dimensions of some of the boats for the wiring are quite narrow and that sometimes makes it difficult for us to remove the old wiring that usually has to be replaced. But anyway, I am not here to tell you everything about the installation of marine equipment on a fishing boat. I am here to share some moments and catches that I found interesting.

Cool man! What a cool experience to be on this fishing boat, and a pretty big one too! I sure do love the water, however I am not the best on boats sadly as I have gotten sea sick before a few times haha (not fun!). But, here in New Zealand I did go on a boat and saw Whales, 2 Sperm Whales, it was amazing! Also some humpback Whales and Hector Dolphins (smallest dolphins) - was great!
