I say this because these days have been somewhat complicated, because in several areas of Venezuela electricity has been failing like never before, rationing has been taking place and some parts of the country have been without electricity for 4 hours daily.
In our case, this week we spent 2 days without electricity where we live and it was a bit annoying, but nothing we could not bear. My husband and I use the Internet a lot, for communication and especially for work, and well without electricity, there is no Internet either, it was stressful at first but then, we decided to look at it from another perspective.
There are things we can't control, because for now we have no power plant, no UPS. So instead of spending all that time frustrated and suffering, we decided to see it as a time to do what we almost never have time to do and you would be surprised how much time technology steals from us.
Saludos queridos amigos, espero que estén teniendo un gran día llego de luz, no solo emocionalmente hablando, sino literalmente. Lo digo porque estos días han sido algo complicados, pues en varias zonas de Venezuela la electricidad ha estado fallado como nunca, se han estado haciendo racionamiento y algunas partes pasan 4 horas sin luz diariamente.
En nuestro caso, esta semana pasamos 2 días sin electricidad en donde vivimos y fue algo fastidioso, aunque nada que no pudiéramos soportar. Mi esposo y yo utilizamos muchísimo el Internet, para comunicarnos y especialmente para trabajar, y bueno sin luz, tampoco hay Internet, fue estresante al principio pero luego, decidimos verlo desde otra perspectiva.
Hay cosas que no podemos controlar, porque por ahora no tenemos planta eléctrica, ni UPS. Así que en lugar de pasar todo ese tiempo frustrados y sufriendo, decidimos verlo como un momento para hacer aquello que casi nunca nos da tiempo de hacer y se sorprenderían el tiempo que nos roba la tecnología.
I'm not saying that I like being without light, not at all, but that when something happens and it gets out of our hands, the best thing we can do is to find a way around it and take advantage of what can be done. During the day, the sunlight allowed us to do several things, so we organized the house together, which made the work more fun and faster.
On the other hand, these days we were very stressed due to work problems, and not being able to be so on top of things and with everyone on top of us, allowed us to lower the stress a bit and think of better solutions. Once again it was clear to us that everything goes better when we are calm and think things through with a cool head.
At night there was not much we could do, we had not had the chance to charge flashlights and the phones were dead, so we went out for a while to walk and you know how the sky looks when the artificial light does not obscure its beauty. A beautiful starry sky accompanied us those days and we could see it, because we were not distracted by the screens.
No estoy diciendo que me gusta estar sin luz, para nada, sino que cuando algo pasa y se escapa de nuestras manos, lo mejor que podemos hacer es buscarle la vuelta y aprovechar lo que si se puede hacer. Durante el día, la luz del sol nos permitía hacer varias cosas, así que organizamos juntos la casa, lo que hizo el trabajo más divertido y rápido.
Por otro lado, estos días estuvimos muy estresados por inconvenientes con el trabajo, y no poder estar tan al pendiente y con todo el mundo encima, nos permitió bajarle un poco al estrés y pensar en mejores soluciones. Una vez más nos quedó claro que todo sale mejor cuando estamos mal calmados y pensamos las cosas con la cabeza fría.
Por las noches no había mucho que pudiéramos hacer, no habíamos tenido chace de poner a cargar linternas y los teléfonos estaban muertos así que, salíamos un rato a la calle a caminar y ya saben como se ve el cielo cuando la luz artificial no opaca su belleza. Un hermoso cielo estrellado nos acompañó esos días y pudimos verlo, porque no estabamos distraídos en las pantallas.
From all this uncomfortable and hot situation we came to a conclusion, we are definitely very used to electricity and all that it implies, and there is nothing to do about it. But if we must be reasonable and set ourselves limits when it comes to using the Internet and technology, we miss out on so many things that are important.
On several occasions I said "I wish electricity had never existed so we would not be so used to it" I said it from my despair, but the reality is that there is much that we can do without it, look at nature and its beauty, proof that our creator loves us and is interested because we are well, there is so much to read, so much to learn and for that we do not always need electricity.
So when there is something that we simply cannot control and that may cause us discomfort, the best thing we can do is to look for the positive side of everything, there always is, we just have to look for it. And for the electricity lady, I've learned my lesson, please don't leave me so long next time.
De toda esta incomoda y calurosa situación llegamos a una conclusión, definitivamente estamos muy acostumbrados a la electricidad y todo lo que está implica, y no hay nada que hacer al respecto. Pero si debemos ser razonables y ponernos límites a la hora de usar el Internet y la tecnología, nos perdemos de muchísimas cosas que son importantes.
En varias ocasiones dije "ojalá la electricidad nunca hubiese existido para no estar tan acostumbrada a ella" lo dije desde mi desesperación, pero la realidad es que hay mucho que si podemos hacer sin ella, fijarnos en la naturaleza y en su belleza, prueba de que nuestro creador nos ama y se interesa porque estemos bien, hay tanto que leer, tanto que arender y para ello no siempre necesitamos electricidad.
Entonces cuando hay algo que simplemente no podemos controlar y que puede que nos causé malestar, lo mejor que podemos hacer es buscar la parte positiva de todo, que siempre la hay, solo tenemos que buscarla. Y para la señora electricidad, ya aprendí mi lección, por favor no me dejes tanto tiempo la próxima vez.
