Cats of Jerusalem

in Caturday3 months ago

Hello friends!
My wife and I went to Jerusalem. We wanted to go to the Museum of Excavations at the Western Wall, but the museum, alas, was closed and then we walked around the ancient streets for a bit and decided to sit in a cafe to relax and drink coffee. And who do you think came to us?

Handsome, really. This cat was very friendly and sociable. He immediately came to meet us. He especially liked me! 😁

Or my coffee! 😅 True, the cat didn’t want to drink coffee. He sat next to us all the time.

After a while, a girl who works there came out of the cafe and began petting the cat. We asked if she knew his name. She said that she knew the cat's name but forgot.

The cat was gorgeous and we were surprised how well-fed and well-groomed street cats are in Jerusalem. But then we realized that this cat is very cunning. In fact, he lives in a house next to this cafe and at the same time comes to the cafe too. And everyone loves him!

The square where we sat in the cafe is very ancient and beautiful.

Next to the cafe there are excavations of the ancient Cardo street. There is a very beautiful mosaic on the wall depicting this street in the first century AD.

Who do we see in the lower left corner of the mosaic?

That's right, a cat! Well, where would we be without our cats, both today and in the first century!!! 😅
